Review Summary

Bar Edicola comes across in these reviews as a stylish, warm Italian-inspired spot in downtown Montreal that feels both relaxed and refined. The vibe is lively with uplifting music, a cozy and convivial atmosphere, and attentive service that balances efficiency with space to chat. The drinks program earns praise, from well mixed cocktails to solid coffee service in the morning, and pastries like pistachio croissants. Small plates and dishes such as artichokes, olives, tuna with pistachio, pesto pasta and other simple, fresh offerings are consistently described as tasty and well prepared. The overall experience is described as authentic and welcoming, with guests noting a touch of Italy in the service and ambiance. The space can feel compact and busy at peak times, making it ideal for a casual bite, a coffee, or an aperitivo with friends, rather than large gatherings. While some reviews mention occasional price concerns or room layout, most agree Bar Edicola delivers a memorable, high quality Italian moment in the city, making it a go-to for coffee, cocktails, and bites.

Stopped in for a bite after a long drive. It was perfect! The drinks were great & the snacks were tasty & really hit the spot. The servers were so kind.

We stopped by for a quick cocktail one evening & learned that they also habe morning coffee bar service, so we went back in the morning for a cafè & cornetto.

Cocktails were very good, perfectly mixed at a good price. We had cappuccinos with 3 corenttos in the morning (apricot, Nutella & butter); coffee was made perfectly & corentto were fresh from the oven.

Seating area is small, but even when it was busy you can have a conversation. I would not recommend going with more than 3 or 4 people though, given the shape of the space (a rather narrow rectangle).

The service is very friendly & just attentive enough; I didn't feel hurried but felt we were given time & space to relax & chat.

This has been commented on before, but it certainly has an Italian bar vibe like you get in Roma or Napoli. Would highly recommend this bar!

We stopped in for some food after shopping, & everyone was super happy we did. We tried almost all of their small plates, & everything was phenomenal. The service was great as well. We finished our meal with a cappuccino with pistachio, & it was so good! What a great find if you're in the mood for a snack & a cocktail.

Bar Edicola is such a gem! My girlfriend & I stopped by for a morning coffee, & it was hands-down one of the best I've had in the city. The vibe is so joyful & welcoming that you immediately feel at home. We came back for a 5@7 & ended up staying way longer than planned, it's the kind of place where you completely lose track of time. The Italian-inspired dishes were delicious, & the hospitality was warm, playful, & genuine. Every second there was a pleasure! can't wait to go back!
