We always order the same dish; green curry with fried tofu. It is always a risk because you never know how it will taste. Sometimes it is great. Tonight, it was inedible. Incredibly salty, spicy & oily. I don't understand the lack of consistency at this place.
We ordered Thai red curry soup & crispy dumplings to start with, the soup was way too watery & lacked flavor. I had to pour some of the dipping sauce that came with the dumplings into the soup.
We ordered the choo-chee fish, Thai red curry with shrimp & beef udon. I made the mistake of asking them to make the food spicy, it was so spicy that we were crying, & we can handle spice. Also, there is no rice with the curries, so you have to order them separate which obviously cost more. The portion of ice-cream (which we got because of the food being overly spicy) was also too small for the price. The Thai milk tea was my savior.
This was my 4th time going to this restaurant, I don't know if I might be going back.
The best red curry in montreal. Have been ordering for years & it's unreal!!
Service was too rapid. Tge mango & papaya salad was decent. The other dishes quite ordinary. The green curry chicken had an unpleasant flavor. The servers were very pleasant.
Late stop on a weeknight, outside terrace, had an amazing mango salad followed by a red curry fish, everything was amazing, highly recommend the mango salad & the service was excellent, very friendly.
Paneng Curry was real good. Wish there was more sticky rice. Had to order a second one to get all that sauce. The oddest tapioca pudding. It was green! Good time all around
Bangkok Express one me over with their excellent & authenticallyThai green curry. The service is genuinely friendly & attentive, & the atmosphere is warm & comfortable. Unfortunately, the peanut chicken wasn't the best I've ever had & the garlic pepper chicken was much too sweet. Nevertheless, I will be returning to sample the rest of Bangkok Express's menu.
Asked for chicken panang curry, got beef. Its was very chewy. Barely any beef too. 50% of the stew is huge onion slides, 30% is peppers, & 20% beef. & container was barely filled. The stew tastes ok though. But for 18$? Was still starving.
I recently dined at Bangkok Express & was truly impressed! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was warm & inviting, blending traditional Thai decor with a modern touch. The staff were friendly & attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. As for the food-it was exceptional! Each dish was bursting with authentic flavors, perfectly balanced with fresh ingredients & spices. We ordered Imperial roll, spring roll, dimpsums, general bbk, Udon noodles & Green curry. Whether you're a fan of Thai cuisine or new to it, this restaurant offers an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy top-notch Thai food!"
We come here for about 15 times. It has a very nice terasse in the summer on a busy & relaxed street. The people walking here is of a higher class I always go for the red curry shrimps which is the best i have found so far everywhere i have been. At a certain time it was very salty but we asked for hot water to dilute & it was ok. The waitresses are very nice. We also often go for the the chicken transparent noddle ( woonsen i believe ) & its a great pleasure enjoying the texture of these noodles. This is one of favorites restaurants ...
WE FOUND HAIR ON THREE DISHES *server was helpful Ordered 3 items & Thai milk tea ( Panang Chicken Curry, Beef Udon, & Garlic Pepper Shrimp) Garlic Pepper Shrimp was very bland, the taste were not up to our expectations. We love the Beef Udon & Panang Chicken Curry but we found a hair on both, our server was very friendly & offered us free Ice cream & the whole meal to be free. We got our ice cream & we happened to find another hair in the ice cream. We've been to Bangkok Express for several times, but this time we really did not enjoy the experience. Overall, the food tasted fair for the price, & we paid for the Thai milk tea, server was super helpful & patient (5 star for service), but the restaurant should really do a quality control.
First time here & will definitely come back. Had the pad Thai with shrimp & chicken, red curry with beef, chicken with peanut sauce & mango & pandan sticky rice for dessert.
Our go to resto. Crispy duck is unreal. Fantastic Pad Thai for those that are picky like us. Gluten sensitivity friendly so it takes the guess work out for us. We literally have not had a bad dish & we've been regulars since 2014. Just ordered more than twice what we wanted so the fridge will be full of leftovers. Green curry is unreal here.
Great experience all together, also enjoyed the atmosphere (try the fish curry ;)
Delicious Thai food. We had curry beef , pad thai noodles & general Thai chicken & cold spring rolls. Scrumptious...all of it. Ask for large plates if you are sharing ala carte dishes. We got 6 inch dessert plates when we asked. The only thing those are good for is eating cake. Ask for ice also, we got warm, room temperature water. They don't have chilled water. They have ice..you just have to ask for it. I would have said something but I was with others. Forgot to take pics. Next time
We ordered take out here & the food was so good it drove me to write my first ever restaurant review. We got green curry, pad see ew, & a few appetizers. Everything was top notch. The pieces of meat were generous & of good size. The other ingredients seemed to be high quality & authentic. Of note they used bamboo shoots & asian eggplant that I usually see substituted out so I considered them a real treat here.
This place certainly blows away Thai Express & Sesame which Montrealers may be familiar with. I consider Thai Express to be of low quality, but reasonably priced. I consider Sesame to be chintzy for its price & only marginally better than Thai Express. If you have another local Thai place you love I can't speak to that, but if Bangkok Express is near enough to you I recommend giving it a try.
Note that we ordered take out rather than dined in, but I gave the service high marks because the food was ready quickly & the take out person was very friendly & prompt.
