My bagel Benedict was cold when served. Cold hollandaise is not enjoyable. Cheese wouldn't even melt. The ppl at the counter were nice enough. Your order at counter & get delivered at table... But you are expected to leave a 15 to 20% tip.
Delicious bagels. I visited your location today. Your superb customer service, along with a delightful menu of great selections, is to be highly recommended to anyone who visits Montreal. Thank you for making this beloved & widely recognized cultural symbol - the bagels that are enjoyed by people of all backgrounds around the world. I love the idea of using dry noodles as the stir sticks.
It is a very popular spot, which doesn't surprise me because the food was delicious. I got the pesto Benedict & it was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent, the staff was super nice, & we got our food very fast after ordering. My only ick is where we were seated. The table is way too low compared to the bench that it made it a bit uncomfortable to eat.
C'est un endroit parfait. Tu peux manger sur place ou pour emporter. C'est charmant & la bouffe est super bonne.
Bel endroit pour le petit déjeuner, on commande dès l'arrivée & le service est rapide. Les assiettes sont bien garnies de fruits , fromages & autres choses selon votre choix. & très abordable , je recommande.
Honnêtement, c'est la meilleure place pour le café , les bagesl,les patates hashbrown & pour le service. Les prix font du sens , la bouffe est délicieuse & le service est juste impeccable. J'y vais au moins 2 fois par semaine depuis les 6 dernières années. L'essayer c'est l'adopter!
Bel endroit relax avec service rapide pour manger un petit déjeuner. À aussi une petite boutique à l'entrée avec des vins & produits locaux ainsi que possibilité d'acheter des grains & café & des bagels pour emporter.
love this place been coming here weekly for about a year now. Recently I have noticed their "quick menu" of just the real simpler ones has gotten a bit pricier. Didnt bother me too much as I notice them constantly renovating the place. What bothered me in the noticeable portion cuts as well. My BLT last week was weak & small, compared to the usual spilling of bacon. A different morning my bacon egg & cheese lacked as well. From a near 10-15% price increase with a cut in portions I'll just be coming in less often.
Superbe endroit ! Le service est toujours rapide & impeccable, & les plats sont, sans exagérer, toujours délicieux. Les fruits sont frais & savoureux à chaque visite. La nouvelle terrasse jaune est magnifique, & grâce aux chauffages extérieurs, nous étions confortablement au chaud. Seul bémol : la porte qui, en se refermant, produit un bruit vraiment DÉRANGEANT!!! À part ce détail, tout est impeccable !
🥯 Update: November 2024 I've been coming to bagel St-Lo almost as long as it's been open, so I've seen it evolve over the years. In the beginning, it was a cozy, popular local bagel spot where you could expect to see the owner herself every day. It became so successful that they expanded into the space nextdoor. Even through a global pandemic, the community stepped up to keep their favourite bagel joint afloat. Today, St-Lo is a bustling brunch & breakfast restaurant & permanent fixture in Verdun that practically runs itself. Here's the thing: over the years, I've evolved too. In the beginning, I tried tons of things on the menu. Then I became vegetarian, but I still had several options. Eventually, I became vegan, & suddenly I could have only one dish on the menu. What disappoints me is that in all this time, the menu has hardly changed. Sure, they redesigned the look & feel of it, & maybe changed a few details here & there, but I guess they figure why change something that works. Today, as I sat in front of my plate, looking at the SAME flat gluten-free vegan bagel they've had for years, stuffed with the SAME arugula, hummus & Alfalfa sprouts, with a side of the SAME (but almost imperceptibly smaller) plain bell-pepper-&-lettuce salad, topped with the SAME dressing (which now makes me think of that "Svbway sandwich smell"), garnished with ONE kalamata olive & ONE cherry tomato, as usual, I started to wonder if this might be the last time I ate here for awhile. I still love St-Lo, but there's only so many times you can have the same dish without getting fed up of it. I wish they'd switch up a few menu items made with local, seasonal ingredients, like they do with their seasonal soup. Un 2e choix végane serait bien apprécié en tout cas. 🙏🏻 🗓 Original review (2020) I love Bagel St-Lo. It's one of Verdun's hidden gems. Bagel St-Lo makes the sweetest, freshest, most delicious bagels in Montreal. In my opinion, they're even better than hot St-Viateur & Fairmount bagels. I buy half a dozen St-Lo bagels almost every week; I can reheat them in the oven a week later after having kept them only in the fridge, & they taste just as fresh, which I can't say for any other bagel I've tried, fresh or day-old. Bagel St-Lo provides compostable takeout containers, paper straws & spaghetti sticks to stir your coffee. They have two self-serve coffee stations with mismatched mugs. Their black coffee is great, & I love their almond milk lattes. Bagels are incorporated into just about every dish on the breakfast, brunch & lunch menu. The restaurant has great vegetarian options & some vegan & gluten-free options. I've tried & enjoyed meals on the spot & to go, & they never disappoint. They're usually just enough for me, but someone who likes a copious breakfast might not be entirely full. The restaurant decor is eclectic & fun to look at, & the owners regularly display local artists' work. The place is really cozy & has outdoor seating in the summer. Bagel St-Lo is so popular that they acquired the space next door & expanded their restaurant, so seating has doubled. It's a big win for local diners! The new counter space is trendy but fits in well with the casual, colourful space. I love eating out on the terrasse in the summer. The wait is rarely more than 5 to 10 minutes, the table service is fast, & the staff is always very friendly. It's no wonder the place is always packed!
I like their bagels & often bring them home. However, twice now, I've received only 11 bagels after ordering & paying for 12. I didn't realize it until I got home (who counts the bagels in the shop? ;))I wish they'd be more attentive-it's understandable once, but twice? I'd rather not have to count them each time...
Un des plus beaux café à Montréal. La bouffe est excellente & l'équipe est géniale. Ça vaut le détour.
Nourriture excellente! Il faut commander au comptoir & faire la file. C'est bondé de monde, le resto est victime de son succès. Il y a souvent une file d'attente.
Un véritable délice. Étant européen en vacances à Montréal, je me suis régalé. Je vous recommande le bagel burger & le kombucha pour boire. Service extrêmement sympathique.
