Azalea was one of the first times I've tried persian food. My partner & I got the tasting menu that came with a variety of different foods to try.
For the yogurt platter, I really enjoyed the olives marinated in a sweet fruity sauce. I don't usually like olives, but this was amazing, especially with the bread.
My favorite part of the tasting platter was probably the eggplant with pomegranate seeds. The eggplant had a smokey flavor that I really enjoyed. Paired with the sweet bursts of the pomegranate was just so delightful.
Overall, I'm glad that I got to try food of different cultures, & I can't wait to explore some more.View more
Intimate space with soft music & attentive hostess. The offerings were sophisticated & felt like a cross between Persian & French cuisine. I recommend the sampling menu for two people. Wine selections were good.View more
In love with their patio & their service, we had the best Persian tapas in North America!View more
We really enjoyed the Persian food with high quality! The taste of everything was beyond our expectations! Fesenjoon, zeytoon parvardeh & almond cake are highly recommended.View more
The service is good. But not so much with the food. We two ordered the tasting selection. it's small amount for $50, also ordered a tea cost $12, quite surprised it's so expensive. with tax & tip in total cost us $80. At the end the owner gave us a free dessert which is a nice gesture & we appreciated it. However, even after that i'm still hungry after I came home, because the food is too little for two, & almost no meat, not staple food, only some bread. One of them is like a meat ball, but tastes like falafel, & too much tomato sauce taste. Most food tastes plain. Is this authentic Persian food?View more
I recently visited Azalea, a Persian restaurant in Montreal, with a friend who's not Iranian. My goal was to introduce her to Persian cuisine, & Azalea was spot on. We ordered the plate, a mix of small portions of different Persian dishes. The flavors were so good, & the presentation was on point. The wine selection complemented the meals well. The ambiance was nice, & the owner, a very welcoming lady, made sure we had a good time. Azalea is a great place for anyone wanting to experience Persian flavors. I highly recommend it!View more
We had such an amazing time visiting this restaurant. The food, the atmosphere, & the loveliest owner! We were visiting from Toronto & wanted to try Persian food here, & we are so so happy to have come across this place. When we come back to Montreal we will definitely come here again :)View more
We are at the restaurant right now sitting in the backyard.we had the plate Du chef which is almost a small portion of more or less all the menu .the food is fresh ,delicious & very creative .As an Iranian I have to say the food tastes like home.the restaurant’s menu consists of more or less tapas portions of Persian food ;from south to North ,West to east .the owner very friendly, the service perfect & the backyard cozy & calm .will definitely return.View more
Lovely staff & beautiful cozy place. Not a restaurant though so if you're going there for Persian food you'll be very disappointed. It's a place focused on wine. Not food!View more
