This restaurant is really intimate & cosy inside with a great date vibe. Because it is smaller, the noise level is not bad. You can easily have a conversation, but not so quiet where you feel everyone can hear your conversation. The service is friendly & personal & the food presentation is really pretty & elegant. The food offerings are a little different than a lot of sushi restaurants. They incorporate fresh fruit like pear slices, kiwi slices & blueberry in some of the rolls. Many of the rolls are not wrapped in nori, but in soy or rice paper. If you like sushi with lots of caviar, tempura flakes & mayonnaise, this is not for you. I found all the fish very fresh & mild. The sashimi is excellent & almost melts in your mouth. The more traditional rolls like dynamite are served with wasabi & ginger, but their more unique ones are not, but will be provided if you request it. The seafood in the rolls is generous & I had a hard time choosing a favourite. Barenaked was our table's least favourite. It did not contain any sushi rice & so for us, the texture wasn't our favourite, although the flavours were nice. I also don't love raw scallops, so for me that loses some points. The New Zealand was delicious with a slice of kiwi that made it feel so refreshing. I've heard their sushi bowls are excellent as well. Maybe next time. Finally, they have a decent dessert menu, which you don't always find in sushi restaurants. They have a matcha ice cream which is served in steel martini glass & 2 chocolate dipped pretzel type sticks. We had the chocolate mousse (delicious), pecan brownie served warm with ice cream (vanilla or coconut- we had coconut) & the matcha with a poor of green tea to finish the meal. All the desserts were fantastc & really pretty in their presentation.
I would definitely go back. Reservations are a must due to the limited seating. It's not inexpensive, but the freshness, quality & unusual, imaginative selection of rolls justified it IMO.
This small restaurant is a true gem! The sushi is exceptionally tasty with some very unique ingredients; just love the pieces with blueberry as an ingredient....blows the mind. Every bite of sushi is oh so very moist & tasty. Love to begin with their Avocado tartare to share; a perfect match with the Lychee Martini. Cozy atmosphere & service with a smile from Jasmine. Highly recommended.
I've been to Avocado Sushi several times before & have always enjoyed the food, which is why this review is disappointing to write. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a great atmosphere that makes for a lovely night out.
Unfortunately, their Valentine's Day menu truly missed the mark. The $155 price tag felt far too steep for what was offered - appetizers, 16 pieces of sushi to share, & a dessert. For that cost, we expected something much more substantial & special.
Honestly, the experience put a damper on our Valentine's Day & left us questioning whether we'll return. It's a shame, because we've had good experiences here in the past & really wanted this night to live up to those standards.
Great little place for sushi in Pointe-Claire Village. Love going there with 1-2 friends for a quiet night with delicious sushi! The sushi is incredible, very fresh, innovative flavours, truly delicious! Very busy so reservations required. Would highly recommend!

Such a lovely spot! The atmosphere was cozy & welcoming, & the food was absolutely amazing. The avocado tartare was incredibly fresh & full of flavor. Everything was beautifully prepared & tasted just as good as it looked. A great place to enjoy delicious sushi in a warm, relaxed setting. Can't wait to go back!
I had high hopes after hearing such great things about this place. It was my partner & I's first time eating here. We came to celebrate his birthday, & were quite disappointed.
Our first impression was that it was very hot/humid inside, the air was very heavy, & there was an odd scent. When we were seated, our table was sticky. Service was okay at best, but nothing outstanding.
The drinks were good, but the quality of the food was lacking, especially considering the high reviews. We got the chefs choice duo & it was nothing special.
Lastly, I had mentioned when making the reservation that it was for a special occasion (birthday), & there was nothing done about it. I know it's not mandatory, but a small gesture/offering would've been appreciated.
Overall, quite an underwhelming experience.
Nourriture excellente en particulier leur tartare avocado spectaculaire, si vous etes friand de sushy, c'est la place a decouvri
Great place, great food, & great service. Highlight for the seafood salad, delicious!
Nice setting & friendly service. The salad was fresh & tasty, but the sushi was very average. The salmon tartare had a strong fishy taste, which was a bit disappointing. There was not a lot of fish in some pieces. Overall, it was okay, but I don't think I'd go back.
Great sushis. I have went 4/5 times, out of those times only one time was a bit inconsistent in terms of the food. Went recently to pick up an order & it was really delicious. Sushis that are unique & beautifully presented. The nantucket, lisabel & asian twist are very good! The salmon sashimi last time were very fresh too! 🐟🍣
Beautiful quaint little fusion Japanese restaurant in Montreal near water. Stopped in during a layover. Definitely recommended oh btw the chocolate is the best I've ever had. Thx 🙏🏾 so much
Food is excellent, Service is above average, Atmosphere is good , Ambient music is too loud
