I'm not normally a fois gras eater, but it was absolutely delicious, on a little pancake with lardon & cheese with a maple sauce on the plate. It just hit every taste bud perfectly. The rest of the meal was also absolutely excellent. If I ever get back to Montreal, I would gladly go here again.
Food was above average but not high end, which was completely acceptable for me. I thought the wine service was poor. I would not have expected that this calibre of restaurant would think that serving $200+ red wine at greater than 18C was acceptable. The sommelier was completely useless.
Food was delicious as were our cocktails. Definitely a place we highly recommend.
Delicious meal, rich, & amazing. Service was on point. Hasn't lost its luster despite how long it's been around.
Martin Picard & his nephew, chef de cuisine Michael, are absolutely still slaying the food scene in Montréal. The menu morphs over time, but the Salade de Bleu, Canard en Conserve, & foie gras persist. I can't visit Montréal without a stop at Pied de Cochon.
Traveling from Alberta, we were recommended to try Au Pied de Cochons by three Montrealers to get a Quebecois experience. We splurged for an anniversary meal & ate duck tamaki, foie gras poutine, aged pork chop, & a special, the shrimp roll. It was too much food for only two of us. In retrospect, we could've split a main course. Everything we ate was rich, flavorful, & delicious. We left with full bellies & a fun experience watching the kitchen do its thing. The service was top notch. Definitely recommend but come hungry!
Everything was just perfect. Great service, food & atmosphere. Loved it!
Not what it used to be anymore. Food portion kept shrinking, & the quality also decreased
The food & service (Nicolas), were wonderful. We particularly enjoyed the foie gras nigiri, scallops, & halibut. It was the best meal we had during our 5-day trip to Montreal. The restaurant is a bit tight (at least where we sat) & the atmosphere feels a bit frenetic, but it was a positive experience overall. We would eat here again. Thank you!
This was an incredible dining experience. One of the most unique menus we have experienced. It was impossible to choose. The staff was very friendly & professional. It is not always easy to get a reservation but keep trying!!!
Where to start. The food was fantastic the service was totally outstanding, Alexandre who took care of us was the absolute best. Started out with the Beef Tounge then 4 different Foie Gras dishes including the Pouding Chomeur with Cheddar & more Foie Gras unbelievable. Can't wait to go back.
We had a great time thanks to Emile, we followed his recommendations, & the food & wine were fabulous
Been waiting ti come here for years & was well worth the wait. The staff took really good care of me & were very friendly. The food was LEGENDAIRE!!!! From the appetizer to dessert. I enjoyed every bite! Treat yourself & enjoy a meal here.
We ordered the Duck Tamaki, the Foie gras nigiri, the pork chops & the duck in a can. I was a bit disappointed by the food. The appetizers were mediocre & the mains came out cold. The duck was unfortunately very chewy & hard to cut. The most memorable part of our dining experience, was the 50min wait to receive our appetizer, then another 20 min to receive our main.
I recently dined at Pied de Cochon & was quite disappointed with the experience. The nigiri, which used to come with six pieces, has been reduced to four, & the tamaki was nothing special. Despite high expectations, we waited an hour & a half for our main dishes, only for the pork chop to arrive cold. Given the price, the experience was not worth it.
Best meal of my life! As a solo diner I felt super comfortable & at ease sitting at the bar, with a fun view of the kitchen. Amazing foie gras specialities, excellent wine list & cocktail. I'd come back to Montreal exclusively to have the Plogue à Champlain, & the foie gras nigiri. Amazing experience from beginning to end!
