We arrived late at night with a full house-three adults & three kids-& Pascal was truly amazing. He was so accommodating, took incredible care of us, & made sure everyone in the family left completely happy!
A few absolute highlights:
• French Onion Soup: Rich, comforting, & easily the best I've ever had.
• Châteaubriand: Tender, cooked to perfection, & full of incredible flavor.
• Oysters: An excellent, ultra-fresh selection.
To top it off, they have an extensive wine list with fantastic options to pair with every course. Between Pascal's warm hospitality & the incredible food, it was a 10/10 experience

Grabbed bar seats facing the kitchen at Au Pied de Cochon & it was the best seat in the house. Watching the line move all night, the discipline & energy back there, it's a masterclass - total controlled chaos executed flawlessly, plate after plate. If you love food, ask for the counter.
The food itself was phenomenal from start to finish - rich, indulgent, unapologetically Québécois, exactly what this place is famous for. Every dish landed.
Service matched the kitchen. Our server was sharp, warm, & clearly loved the menu - walked us through everything without a hint of script. The GM also came by to check in, genuinely engaged, not just doing rounds. That kind of top-to-bottom hospitality is rare.
If you're in Montreal & want to see a great kitchen in action while eating some of the best food in the city, sit at the counter. Cannot recommend enough.

I was honestly extremely scared for the stuffed pig's foot & assortment of foie gras related entrees. Especially since they touted themselves as the #1 producer of foie gras in the entire world, which I kindve find hard to believe. The inside was very nicely decorated, with lots of custom made cutlery, plates, & alcohols. The waiter was very hospitable, explained all the specials & dishes simply & made us all feel very welcome. The food did take a long time to come out, but we were able to get our drinks & appetizers out relatively quickly so it didn't bother us too much. I really loved the poutine & tagliatelle, & the pigs foot actually wasn't as terrifying as I thought it would be. A slight livery aftertaste, but nothing too crazy, just really fatty which wasn't my favorite. We also ordered their maple syrup based pie dessert which was heavenly. Overall, a great experience, but maybe pigs foot just isn't for me. Would recommend.
The experience here at Au Pied de Cochon was absolutely worth the trip to Montreal. I recommend getting anything that have foie gras. Their pork tenderloin was really good, & the foie gras with the truffle butter was amazing.
Pour notre trip au Canada où l'on est passé par Granby, Toronto & Montréal il s'agit de notre meilleur restaurant & l'un de nos meilleurs of all time. La cuisine y est excellent, l'équipe très serviable & aimable notamment Arthur le jeune homme originaire de Montpellier. L'on a aimé être accompagné par ce dernier tout du long. Il nous fallait goûter à une cuisine singulière représentant le Québec, on a été servi. Je recommande vivement aux touristes.
Best experience in Montreal so far. I learned my love for foie gras through this restaurant…! The food was spectacular but the service was even better. I can't say enough good things about this place, highly recommend!!

Originally I wanted to give a 2 star because I visited here in Jan 2026 for duck in a can, but it gave me a familiar Chinese cuisine taste rather than the Canadian French style I expected, lots of oil + dark black sauce + heavy salty + sticky. I previously gave 2 stars because I was unsatisfied to see the chef using Asian fusion logic, the heavy umami to give a dopamine boost, that's so lazy as a French chef, I felt like I was tricked. I grew up in China & duck in a can made me felt so sleepy the same way as the time when I had lunch at my Chinese high school cafeteria.
But thanks to their excellent service quality during my first visit, which made me consider a second visit after 4 months. & now I am so glad that I tried APDC for a second time in May 2026 with the fact that I was originally expecting a mixture of French & Asian this time. I ordered duck temaki, foie gras nigiri & pork loin, it was a really wonderful experience, I enjoyed my dinner & my server Michel was so nice & answered all my questions patiently. The pork loin was so great that I ordered some sourdough to take away all the meat jus.
I would definitely come back some day, & I would recommend it to my friends, but I bet I would tell them not to expect an'elegant' Quebec French style, but a savory'calorie carnival'
WoW !!! C'était une première dans ce restaurant! Une première à manger du foie gras! Une première à manger du boursin ! Mes papilles gustatives sont encore sur l'effet WoW du goût incroyable du plat du magret de canard en canne & l'accord vin qui nous as été proposé par la serveuse qui d'ailleurs nous as offert un super service ! Je recommande 300% ce restaurant ! Nous avons décidé de passer nos 10 ans de vie commune chez vous & nous sommes heureux de notre choix & nos souvenirs qui vont rester ! Merci a toute l'équipe de nous avoir permis de vivre cette expérience culinaire extraordinaire !
