When recommended by winemaker Norman Hardie also having his wines on their impressive list - great fun - great flavors - great service #justdoit

This was my second visit & it was as wonderful as my first.
The sweetbreads were fantastic, the foie gras nigiri was incredibly unique, & I will be dreaming about the foie gras poutine until I come back next year!
This restaurant serves the best Poutine I've ever had. The restaurant is located in a really cool part of town & seems kind of like a hipster neighborhood. The staff & servers were as good or better than you'll find anywhere. It seemed like all the servers worked all the tables simultaneously. Any server that walked by would ask you if you needed anything, you had to wait for nothing ever. I've never been in a restaurant where the servers worked this way, & can only say I wish all restaurants worked this way. This restaurant provides a truly great dining experience with exceptional food, & exceptional drinks, everything about it is exceptional! I will never find myself in Montreal without eating here. Can't wait to go back! Make reservations, the restaurant isn't large & seems to be in very high demand. So sorry I forgot to take pictures.
You might read comments saying that this place has lost its shine, but I'm going to say that's wrong.
It's unique & it's food made with rich love. The service & environment is welcoming & friendly.
I left wondering if we have something comparable, & I don't think so.
Its simply great
Absolutely amazing experience. Food was incredible, excellent service & wine list. Incredible Quebecoise dishes this is a must visit if you are in Montreal
The dining experience provided is World Class. The presentation, cuisine & service delivered beyond my expectations. The food was delicious & memorable. My compliments to the staff & chefs. I flew out from Southern California & had the honor to meet Master Chef Martin Picard in person. I can't thank you & your staff enough for one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. (The Foie Gras Poutine & Canard En Conserve are sublime)
Max Lopez-
Solid! & an experience. My interpretation is that this is a restaurant that serves typical Quebecois food (think caban a sucre) but elevated. Elevated as it is creative, well prepared, premium ingredients (+fois Gras everywhere) but you pay. I would infer that they have their regulars, but disproportionately oit-or-towners. Very rich [fatty] so what we'd prefer to ha e as a lunch. A very extensive wine list- clearly a labour of love - but skewed towards Pinot Noir style ... Would respectfully suggest a few robust wines table wines.. as that was what I yearned ton accompany.
Amazing place. Food is delicious. Superb service.
Pity they don't have kids menu.

I had dinner at Pied de Cochon with my wife. I chose this restaurant because I'd heard about it often &, according to reviews, it seemed to be one of Montreal's most reputable spots. The atmosphere is pleasant, & the service is very attentive-perhaps even a bit too intense. You take a sip of wine, & a server rushes over to refill your glass. On that front, I have no complaints.
From a gastronomic standpoint, it was very good. So why am I taking off two stars? Well, I might have been a little disillusioned. I expected to eat like a king-or a pig, given the name!-but honestly, if I hadn't ordered an appetizer, I'd have left the place still hungry. For my main course, I had the aged pork ribs: they were delicious, but the few slices served with a small piece of cabbage & some charred bits of bread left me wanting more. It felt like something was missing. At that price, they could've offered more sides, a big basket of bread, or a more generous portion of meat. It seemed like I was eating an appetizer disguised as a main course.
My wife ordered the tripe. It was good, but it came without any sides-just a drizzle of oil & a big chunk of Parmesan. The bottle of wine fortunately helped us enjoy the vibe, but we left the restaurant having liked the experience while feeling a bit let down by not being full.

Our first time & it was exceptional. Loved sitting at the bar & watching the extremely organized chaos going on in the kitchen. Food & drinks were delicious & I would highly recommend it.
Food, service, & vibes were truly top class here.
We came in for a date night dinner & initially ordered the Onion soup, Plogue à Champlain, & their Duck in a Can. However after we got our soup appetizer we saw something that caught our eye, a whole roast pork head! We asked the service staff about it & it turns out it was an off-menu special they had missed mentioning to us. They were flexible with us & let us cancel the rest of our order & order the special instead
The result was entirely too much food for 2 people but it was a wonderful experience carving into our meal & eating something so incredibly rich & succulent. The pigs head was prepared much like a Peking Duck & so the skin was incredibly crisp & crackly & the inside meat was rich & juicy. It came with a platter of chun bing(the wraps typically served with pecking duck), a variety of sauces, & julienned radish, cucumbers, & garlic chives.
Needless to say it was incredibly delicious & the staff was very enthusiastic about our enjoyment. Will absolutely be coming back with more friends as we'll need to bring extra mouths to help finish all this next time!
