Prepare yourself for a long wait....I'm not sure if the wait was worth the food. The food was good, but the wait created an anticipation of something great. We waited for a party of 4 on a Sunday in August for 2 hours which may have created an anticipated experience of awe, but turned out to be an aw shucks...
Visited on a busy Saturday at 11 AM & was quoted a 1.5-hour wait ,got the call back in just under an hour. Worth it? Absolutely.
The Grand Slam is a bold, satisfying plate: crispy Nashville fried chicken that's perfectly spiced, a fiery house sauce that brings serious heat, & maple syrup that balances everything with a sweet finish. The syrniki were fluffy & light, the runny eggs added richness, & the beef bacon brought that salty crunch to tie it all together. Every bite was layered & indulgent.
Bonne expérience sans plus. Les portions de nourriture sont assez anémique pour le prix. Si vous y allez pour le hype vous serez servis.
Arthur's Nosh Bar was highly recommended to us during our visit to Montréal, & we can understand why.
This restaurant has a great dining area that's well lit & relaxing. The staff are all friendly & helpful. There is also a lot of merchandise for sale.
We ordered the Strawberry Syrniki for breakfast (a cheesy pancake). It was one of the best breakfasts we had on our visit. The pancake wasn't too sweet (which is what we've noticed from other breakfast places in Canada) & & strawberries & maple syrup enhanced the flavour. Highly recommend Arthur's Nosh Bar for breakfast.
Food was On the better end, but don't think it's worth the hype it has. Still good though.
Sat at the bar, ordered their pancake. The ricotta pancake was light, with a deliciously drizzled maple syrup & powdered with sea salt that cut through the rich syrup.
Solid service by the barman, very attentive, offering sharing plates before we even asked.
I have been to Arthur's twice now on visits to Montreal & both times were amazing! Our most recent visit, just a couple of days ago, was truly outstanding. We went on a weekday, so although business was still steady it wasn't packed & we were able to be seated right away. Service was friendly & attentive. We got the latke smorgasbord, the breakfast sandwich, fries & shared the pancakes for dessert. It was all top notch. My husband said the breakfast sandwich was one of the best (if not the best) he's ever had, & we both agreed the pancakes were THE best we've both ever had. We loved the vibe & can't wait to come back!
Arthur's Nosh Bar is a restaurant on Notre-Dame St. W. in St. Henri. Owners Alex Cohen & Raegan Steinberg, a married couple, worked at Joe Beef before opening Arthurs.
The restaurant serves Jewish classics with a twist. I've been wanting to go here since last year for brunch, but I never got the chance.
I decided to try it because I've never been to a Jewish inspired restaurant before, & the ratings seemed good.
I walked in the heat & sun to the middle of a very odd place on a weekday afternoon to get to here. I was surprised it was packed & had a waitlist.
I ordered:
LATKE SMORGASBORD
SOFT SCRAMBLED EGGS, LATKE, SALMON GRAVLAX, ISRAELI SALAD, PRESSED CHALLAH ROLL
I quite liked it, especially the pressed challah roll. It's nice that it's something sweet, served with other savoury items. The latke was good too. Out of the menu items, this one is popular alongside with the pancakes (but I ordered Katie smorgasbord because it seemed more unique to me).
DELISH 10/10. came on a weekday ~12 & it was busy (30min wait) so we just got takeout since we were in a bit of a rush.
ordered syrniki (cottage cheese pancakes) aka best pancakes of my LIFE, the bagel + lox (so good so fresh) & the mcarthur- the chicken sandwich also delish. loved everything & would love to return here if i'm back in montreal
4.5 stars. Great brunch spot. Went on a Thursday morning & it was quite busy. Couldn't imagine the weekend wait. A little insane the MP for the strawberries worked out to $6 over the cost of the pancakes regularly. Service was okay.
This place gets brunch. Everything we tried was packed with flavour & personality. The McArthur sandwich? Savoury, messy, & damn satisfying with turkey, egg, & pickles on a sesame bagel. The classic plate with scrambled eggs, challah, latke, & smoked salmon looked fancy & felt comforting.
Waffles with beef bacon , salami & egg hit that sweet-salty-crunchy spot, & the shakshuka was warm, not too spicy, & perfect for scooping with pita. Portions are generous, the vibe is lively, & even if there's a wait-it's worth it.
Great experience! The food was AMAZING & then we had a problem with the bill & they were super kind & willing to help us! I will go back everytime I go to Montreal!
On a adoré notre déjeuner chez Arthurs.
Mention spéciale pour les pancakes aux fraises du Québec 😋
