The food here tastes as good as it looks, & thats saying a lot since its among the most aesthetic restaurant food I have ever ordered. As seen in the pictures the lattes are insanely beautiful & im inspired to try this for myself. The pistachio latte in particular was delicious!
For the food, the smoked salmon poached eggs are my favorite poached eggs ive had, probably because I think the avocado béarnaise sauce is such a great idea. The flowers to garnish were so pretty. The truffle fries were so good (& huge), as was the shakshuka. The pictures of the yuzu french toast speak for itself, seriously an impressive presentation.
The pistachio cheesecake was a lovely dessert with an inventive touch of balsamic flavor.
Our waitress was very helpful-whether you are a tiktok influencer or not you wont be disappointed at Antipode.
The dishes are Instagram-ready, beautifully plated & very appealing visually. Unfortunately, the flavors didn't quite match the presentation. The mushroom & truffle Benedict was overly salty, & the Choco Bounty latte was far too sweet. The tiramisu latte was decent, though the flavor could have been a bit more pronounced. Overall, it felt like the focus was more on aesthetics than on the quality of the food itself.
Service was also quite slow, especially considering there weren't many customers when we arrived. It makes me wonder how long the wait might be during peak hours.
One thing to note: 17% + tips is added by default.
The positive sides were drinks & service. Their themed lattes are spot on. Not too sweet & still can taste coffee itself. Service was welcoming & took care of my partner's allergy request.
However, once we received our food, our enthusiasm has sunk. I ordered croque tartiflette & honestly I don't understand how anyone can enjoy 2 pieces of bread sprinkled by some bacon & covered by some cheddar while paying over 30$ for it including tax & tips. I guess some people do. My fault to order that. Arrived cold.
My partner ordered truffle & champignons Benedict. Came stone cold. The green sause tasted straight up as a fish. There was no even a hint to taste any truffle since that fish taste overshadows anything on the plate.
In conclusion, will probably come back to get a take out for a coffee. In terms of food, it was the worst brunch I've tried so fa
I appreciate that the menu diverges from standard brunch offerings & demonstrates a willingness to experiment beyond familiar conventions.
The tiramisu latte was enjoyable overall; however, the espresso notes lacked sufficient intensity to fully anchor the beverage. More generally, some dishes would benefit from greater balance in flavor profiles. The yuzu pain doré, while initially appealing, became overly sweet after several bites, evoking the sensory fatigue associated with excessive sugar. In contrast, the beurre noisette with merguez skewed slightly too acidic for my palate. Service was somewhat slow, though this would not deter me from returning.
We enjoyed brunch here overall. The pain doré yuzu was really good, the sweetness from the bread was balanced out nicely by the sourness from the dipping, but it's too sweet to finish on its own. I loved the merguez though, especially when you mix everything together with the yogurt base, sauces, & poached eggs.
My only real complaints: the coffee tasted more like syrup & milk with a bit coffee flavor than actual latte.. & the tip options start at 17%… just something to keep in mind.
Came here for brunch. I had the pistachio latte which I loved. It looks beautiful & tastes just as good. I also had the mushroom Eggs Bénédictine. It was good but I think I prefer the salmon one. This one was just too mushroomy.
The food at Antipode was excellent, full of flavor & very well-prepared. I was happy they offer halal options, which made dining stress-free. Our server was amazing, super friendly, & attentive without being overbearing.
I was scared this was not make my cup of tea. Let me tell you this was amazingggg! I love the fresh toast more than my tiramisu latte!
We were looking for a spontaneous date day to have brunch & after few research found this place. Decided to give it a try as the menu seemed interesting & prices seemed reasonable for brunch. The tiramisu latte looked delicious as well. We ordered & waited 45 mins for our food. They brought out the truffle fries we had ordered & at this point we were starving & devoured the fries. When the food finally came out we were no longer hungry. We took 3 bites & brought the rest to go. It was unfortunate that they were short in the kitchen that day therefore considered all before giving this rating. Great staff, food, & atmosphere regardless.
Unique & sweet lattes, but highly overpriced dishes with basic & cheap ingredients. The chackchouka was average.
Great service, the server was attentive to our request & really pleasant to interact with. However, a previous comment stated that the glasses were dirty, this remains accurate. Ustensils also had some stains.
One of the best brunch's I have tested so far in Montreal. Arguably the best.
Food is amazing & Drinks looks so Instragramables & also taste so good. I strongly recommend Pain Perdu Yuzu & Latte Speculos
Vibes are nice. Service is excellent.
Note there is always a few people in the line (meaning it's popular 😉) So get at least 15-30 min ahead of schedule.
The lattes were delicious & the presentation was gorgeous! The food was very tasty & the service was very fast.
This is my absolute favourite brunch spot in Montreal! The food & drinks are all delicious, with unique flavour combinations, & the space is super cosy.
The dishes come out at a reasonable speed & the staff are always polite & friendly! Huge shoutout to the servers who bore through me trying to speak French & even offered me tips to improve :) I'm currently learning the language & I truly appreciate it when people let me practice with them.
I highly recommend the yuzu pain perdu, beurre noisette saumon, pistachio latte, & matcha latte. & a tip, if you're going on a weekend, make sure you arrive early, because it gets quite busy & wait times can be long!
Rien a dire.
