Really delicious! Tried a few plates & everything was extremely flavourful & generous in portion! Wonderful food!
A super example of what a Montreal Style Chinese restaurant should be. Great service, cool atmosphere & the lemon chicken was amazing! & very reasonably priced too! I'll be back with Amigos!
Both the Salt & Pepper Pork & Rice, & the Shanghai Style Chow Mein were delicious & reasonably priced.
I don't usually do reviews, but this place is a winner! My brother & I strolled by & was curious & word on the street is, it's pretty damn good! We had the chow mein & salt & pepper chops. Get ready for a real authentic experience. I wish I can share my dish with all of you right now!
The chow mein is insane. My brain almost exploded processing the flavours. 🤯
Porchops are fantastic, value priced dishes & an excellent waiter. Great dinner here!
Been here twice with different sizes of parties & both times were excellent. Both parties unanimously agreed that this is the best salt & pepper place in Montreal & we will be frequenting again. Serving portions were big & greatly priced. Both the lady & gentleman serving us both times were friendly & kind & gave us good recommendations. Gem of a place.
Been visiting this Montreal staple for over 15 years, & it's honestly one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The place may look quaint & unassuming on the surface, but the food here is pretty darn great! The salt & pepper fried pork chops are, hands down, the best, & an absolute must-try for any newcomers. 10/10, would highly recommend this place. Have been bringing friends & family here for years, & they can all attest the same.
Fresh authentic Chinese food (excluding the general tao dish) that tastes amazing.
We were 5 & we ate so much we got so greedy & it was only 80 bucks. Food was delicious very good service he kept refilling the waters which I vibe with, it was truly a magnificent experience.
Best salt & pepper fried pork chops. Biggest portions size for the price in Chinatown. Got some courtesy upon sittin, it was nice although scalding hot. Ordered the pork chops. They come with rice, a fried egg & bok choy. Everything was delicious. I always leave satisfied when I go to this restaurant. The service was nice & the atmosphere was cozy.
Super affordable, fast, & delicious! Service is friendly & quick. Definitely, it is a must go in Montreal's Chinatown. I loved Amigo Restaurant
Felt like having quick Cantonese dinner, found this gem in Chinatown, after checking out the menu, we order young chow fried rice, the portion was good however the taste wasn't flavorful enough. Not salty enough & missing eggs & wok fire tasting (wok hay). Besides that only one waiter running the show, he was efficient & quick. Over all we ordered their two must order dishes, salt & pepper fried pork chops & chicken n shrimp with mayo sauce. Both dish was pretty decent, the portion to the pork chop was huge! Consumer Price index was over the chart! They must had 13 to 14 pieces of pork chops for under 14 cad. That is really good value! Besides that we ordered garlic stir fried buk choy, & bitter melon with black bean beef which was off the menu. Over all was great dinner with plenty of left over pork chops. I think we had like 7 pieces left. Will be back to this place when we are ever back to Montreal again.
When we order Chinese food from Montreal Chinatown, we usually go to the same locations. This time we wanted to try something different.. it was slightly difficult to find the restaurant as we didn't realize that it was located on the second level. Once we got up the stairs, we had a look at the menu & ordered the dishes that we wanted. The food was prepared quite quickly.. everything was ok
Best salt & pepper fried pork chop in town. Excellent cantonese food, very reasonable price. Great service, definitely will come back soon!
Picture this, you're walking the night streets of Montreal Chinatown wondering what's still open. You come across this door with a staircase that leads upstairs & an Aquarium. You decide, "why not?", lets give this place a try. You walk up & are greeted by the waiter. You ask him why the place is called "Amigo", & he replies "well aren't we friends". & he's right, the moment you walk in, that's how you feel, like friends. Looking at the menu, there's a bunch of hidden little gems to cure your cravings. After having visited my Amigo a few times, I can tell you right now that the two things you guys should try is the Hot Sale (porkchop), & the Chicken Mayo. That stuff is absolutely bussin fr. best spot in chinatown hands town, i won't even let someone debate me on this. if you think i'm wrong you're delusional af thanks!!!!
My review is quite generous, the place was good. Finding it was difficult because it's upstairs & there wasn't a sign that I could see. The food was ok, the general Tao was a bit hard to chew compared to other places that I usually eat the same dish. The beef fried rice was phenomenal but the Cantonese chow mein was disgusting. It was more like noddles & a thick gravy poured on top with tasteless shrimp sooooo, don't recommend that. The atmosphere was traditional but a bit lacklustre in terms of lighting & environment. That was probably due to us being seated in a tight corner. The waiter was nice but cluttered as he was the ONLY one to be waiting at least 4 tables, checking out & doing Uber. He was doing too much by himself making wait times longer. More staff needed? Perhaps.
