From the team behind Ristorante Beatrice, Améa is a Mediterranean-inspired gourmand resto / pizzeria + coffee shop nestled within Montreal’s historic Maison Alcan building.

Améa Café se présente comme un espace vaste et élégant, avec une ambiance cosy et lumineuse qui invite aussi bien à travailler qu’à se détendre, et une offre variée de boissons, de pâtisseries et de plats méditerranéens où chaque détail visuel semble soigné. Les avis mettent en avant des desserts et des viennoiseries frais et créatifs, des croissants pistache et des croissants supreme, un café de qualité et des options brunch ou lunch appréciables, parfois complétés par des pizzas ou des plats nourrissants. Le cadre attire par ses nombreuses places et ses zones dédiées au travail ou au calme; toutefois la fréquentation peut être bruyante et les files d’attente longues, et certaines portions sont jugées petites ou les prix élevés pour ce qu'elles apportent. Dans l’ensemble, Améa Café est perçu comme une adresse chaleureuse et esthétique avec une offre gourmande et un service sympathique, qui vaut le coup d’y jeter un œil pour son atmosphère et son potentiel de coworking, tout en restant conscient des périodes d’affluence et de la variabilité de certains plats ou pâtisseries.
It's a self-service cafe/restaurant but the person serving me behind the counter gave me excellent recommendations for my first time here & I highly appreciated it! It truly elevated my experience & I'm so grateful! The blueberry almond croissant is amazing & hit the spot (not too sweet but excellent fresh texture) & I can't wait to try my crookie later! The coffee is good! I look forward to the opportunity to come back! 😊
Conveniently located downtown Montreal, it is a nice place to visit for breakfast, brunch, lunch or a coffee. Lots of room divided in different areas, so no worries to find a seating. We really enjoyed the « croque mademoiselle » for brunch with a nice latte. We'll be back to taste for items on the extended menu. Service was ok with the person that brought our plates, he seemed new & obviously lack experience in servicing. This is a self semi self service as you order at the counter & you get the coffee when it is ready while the food is brought to your table. Worth the detour!

I think it's worth the hype. It gets bussy but they can manage. Aslo, really big space . Great place to work & don't forget to try their different croissants. 🥐
Great food & large dining room. A lot of good food options & beverages. Only downside is that you have to go order your food at the counter & pay there. If I do the work of the waiters, at least I don't have to leave a tip 😅✌🏼

Classy interior & lots of food options. My friend & I got avocado toast with lox & an iced latte for brunch & they were delicious! Heads-up though that it can get packed towards lunch time & might be waiting for a while for your food.
They have one of the best avocado on toast that I have ever tried (10/10). Cappuccino was good. Spacious area with multiple seatings, soft ambient lighting which is calming & great for working.
Fresh & health, & no burden for your stomach. Recommend to take the sandwich " porchetta & smoke cacciocavallo", full mouth of the meat,it is delicious!

Food & pastries were spectacular. Seating area is gorgeous & spacious. Only issue was that the music was quite loud. The eggplant was a highlight dish as well as the circular croissants.
This is a beautiful ambiance with different pastries & brunch options. However, there is no services after receiving foods & if you need an extra plate, utensils, bread or any other side requests you have to turn back to customers line & wait long to talk with cashier. We asked an extra piece of bread & they charged 7$! Unreasonable price for a bread & inconvenient customer service in a sense that needs to back to the line just for such a small request! In the matter of food quality, we ordered Shakshuka & supreme croissant. The Shakshuka was delicious but the breads were super stiff & the croissant taste was average. There is still a way to improvement.
Les prix sont vraiment exagérés pour ce qu'ils servent. En voyant le crostini buratta anchois, nous avons éclaté de rire. Attention, le plat ne correspond pas à la photo! En plus, vous mangez entassés les uns sur les autres. Vraiment à fuir. Mon plat, une sorte de burger de champighons frits, était carrément sans goût. C'est une arnaque qui semble reposer sur l'ignorance de sa clientèle. Le dessert aux graines de chia était aussi sans goût.
