I went with a friend around 6pm on a Friday. I recommend getting there early because it's gets very busy. By the time we left there was a line of people waiting for a table. The servers were great but since they were so slammed it did take them a while to come back around to us & then get us the bill. We ordered the guacamole & the beef & pork tacos. Food was great. Great New Mexican restaurant in the heart of NDG (Monkland Village). The food is amazing (both times we ordered the guacamole, soft Tacos Suadero & the Fish Tacos. The fired plantains are also very good!! The food is fresh & authentic!! From the moment you walk in, the warmth of the staff & the rich aromas from the kitchen make it clear that you are in for something special. This place is a local gem!!Voir plus

Authentic Mexican dishes (I love the tacos Al Pastor,) friendly service, & awesome guacamole with homemade tortilla chips! Arrived at 6pm with tickets to a show upstairs at Sala Rossa at 8pm. We ordered promptly but food didn't arrive until 7:45pm! We had to chase the waitress to find out what was going on. No explanations, no apologies. We were told that we could bring food upstairs, but as it was General Admission & no tables, that was completely unfeasible. The people who arrived just after us ended up cancelling their orders as they wouldn't get their food in time!
Food was flavorful though slightly underwhelming. They were out of fish, so I had the brisket soft tacos. Be aware that any sides must be ordered separately as there is not even lettuce on the plate.
The room is extremely loud (weird acoustics) & I had difficulty hearing the person talking across the table from me.
My suggestion is that the restaurant should'staff up' on concert nights. From other reviews it sounds like people have had a better experience.Voir plus

Food is very normal, I wouldn't say the restaurant is bad, but food lacks a bit of flavor & the portions are very small for the cost of the dishes. Not a bad option for people who want to explore Mexican food in Montreal, but not my favorite.Voir plus

Food is pricey & portions are small ( considering the price)but filling. Is it the nuttiest mexican resto in mtl? No. Is worth a stop? Yeah. Give it a try. Personally, the tomatillo sauce was really good in my plate, but I feel the meat lacks the Mexican zing I've had in other joints. The chips to start are okay. Idk man just... Loved them on Monkland & my husband & I made a special trip to them on St. Laurent. Very nice restaurant, great staff, so friendly & welcoming. & the food was DELICIOUS. Truly authentic homemade Mexican food. We were served chips & salsa verde & a regular homemade salsa that was the best Ive ever had. We ordered the chicken tacos & it was sooo good! You can tell that ingredients are fresh, & it is made on the spot. The owner told us about the last Thursday of each month they have flamenco dancers to feel free to come by & check it out. That made us feel special & it sounds like fun. HIGHLY RECCOMMEND, will definitely return.Voir plus
