Food was overall pretty good, but could use some more refining. For example, the shrimp taco was very bland, the tetala could have used more sweet potato, & the beef tongue had wayy too much mayo. However, the corn madeleines & queso fresco were delightful, & we loved the crudo. The portions were tiny, we had the 9 course menu for 2 & it felt like we split a set course for one. We had to eat elsewhere after, despite paying 280$ already.
Visiting Alma was one of my top dining experiences ever. A well curated tasting menu, wonderful drink pairings both alcoholic & non alcoholic. The service was incredible, attentive & knowledgeable staff served the dishes & explained each one. We sat at the counter & had a great view of the kitchen & food prep. A very small & intimate dining experience makes sure you get a reservation in advance. We'd been interested in eating here in a previous visit & couldn't get a reservation. However it is more than worth the wait & the hype!
Beautiful inside & out! Wonderful food, excellent service. Thank you for an unforgettably delicious experience!
Had a wonderful experience here & was very happy I got to experience this restaurant. I tried a few years ago when I was in Montreal & I wasn't able to get a reservation. It was worth the wait the food was fantastic, a very creative fused menu with excellent service. The ambiance was also great. Low light with a lot of candles. It's a very small restaurant so it feels very private. Hats off to the chef for putting together a fantastic tasting menu.
Excessivement dispendieux (très) & service incroyablement long service.
A cool dining experience with an impressive Spanish wine collection.
It was good, but nothing more. The food was interesting, but left us a little hungry (note that I limited myself to the smallest menu offered) & was inconsistent. The wine...I don't understand how its price is justified, I understand the rarity of the products but the quality was missing. The experience was good all in all, but the price was hard to justify for a wine bar, approx. $325 for 4 glasses of wine & two very light 5-course meals. Even if the food is objectively more gourmet than a typical wine bar, Alma seems overpriced.
