Every Eid, twice a year since 2021, my family & I have had the pleasure of visiting Allo Mon Coco to start our day with what was always a great breakfast experience. Never any complaints. Unfortunately, this visit on Wednesday felt very different from what we expected.
One of our favorite items appeared to have been removed from the menu, & when I asked our waitress about it, the response came across dismissive -'I'm sorry, what Sunshine?, what crepes & eggs?' - as if I did not know what I was referring to. I felt embarrassed & uncomfortable. So I remained silent.
We ended up ordering something else, but the buttered toast arrived overly toasted, & their usual loving, & caring service lacked the warmth & attentiveness we were always used to. In past visits, servers would check in multiple times to make sure everything was alright, offer coffee refills, & genuinely make us feel very welcomed. This time, our table was not checked on once throughout the meal. Just for the bill.
We still tipped regardless, out of respect, but I sincerely hope this was just an off day & not the new standard moving forward. As mentioned, my family always enjoyed coming here as it's our Eid tradition, & I would truly like to continue doing so.
I went to Allô Mon Coco this morning I had no power at home.The service was always perfect until today.The waitress asked me if everything was good but from a distance then I asked can I have a refill of coffee please but she didn't come right away,was to busy talking to the cook.Then when I paid the bill gives me the receipt without saying anything. Her name is S-VIRGINIA.
Thanks for a 3 star service.

Service is very important for me.
I usually invite & meet over a dozen retired colleagues there at the Allô Mon Coco Pointe-Claire. We meet 2 to 3 times a month. The staff is always very attentive & amicable with us. The breakfast food & coffee are delicious & reasonably priced. The atmosphere is always great. I always look forward to going there.

Always a great meal at Allo Mon Coco! First time visiting this location & the food was just as good. Server was funny & always came to refil coffee & checkin. Prices were fair. Enjoyed that the meal came with free coffee/tea.
It's been a while that we have been to a restaurant with excellent customer service! Peter was our server today, he did an outstanding job at refilling our coffee, checking up on us & actually doing nothing but his job, it really doesn't take much to make people happy but with the service industry nowadays, it's hard to find good service that actually makes you want to tip well in today's economy.
Peter was one of the few left today that made our experience pleasant, & our food was also amazing as we were left satisfied & happy with the complete experience.
Keep up the good work & treat you're good employees well!👍👍😇
We had brunch today at the restaurant & got served by Nicole. Super attentive & sweet, gave us great recommendations & made sure our cups were always filled to the top with coffee! We'll definitely go back.

The seats & table were very sticky. I got the salmon Benedict which was bland & they cut the portion of their potatoes by a third. The coffee tasted like water. Their quality definitely went downhill. & their prices are very high for such a low quality place.
When this place has just opened, food were served nicely. Waiters & waiteresses were very kind & polite. But overtime my partner & my family noticed a huge difference on the service especially the plates. Try coming early in the morning between 6 to 8am.. the mashed potatoes are a bright yellow. Try coming in around 11 onwards.. it looked overcooked.. idk if it's from constant reheating or over exposure of food. & not just that, the potatoes has some mixture of bacon in it. I would like to think that it's a clear cross contamination of food in the kitchen but hey, God knows. Moving on, the service also became fickle. The utensils even coffee mugs have some sip marks. I was so disgusted. Like how do you clean your plates & all that? Do you just rinse them in water & not actually use a soap? idk. i stopped going to this place because of these issues. My food served cold. Potatoes with bacon or sausage bits in it.. sip marks on my mug & some stains on the knife & spoon. Ugh.
We recently tried this new breakfast restaurant & were impressed with the clean, bright & bold surroundings. The service was very friendly & fast. The food was well prepared & beautifully presented. I chose one of their eggs benedict plates & like the majority of restaurants, the hollandaise sauce was a little weak in the butter department. It was refreshing to have GOOD COFFEE, which strangely seems to be a rarity in Montreal breakfast restaurants.
However....
After choosing our meals, the waitress pleasantly asked if I would like cheddar cheese, swiss cheese or both on my potatoes.... I thought wow, that's a nice idea, & chose the cheddar.... if I had known I was going to be charged an additional $2.50 for some melted cheese mixed in to my potatoes (hardly tasted any cheese at all), I would have definitely refused. Although I understand you get what you pay for....I still find over $40 for breakfasr for 2 a little high.
All in all a pleasant experience if you disregard the surprise surcharges, & I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
UPDATE:
Unfortunately like many restaurants that become popular quickly, the quality & consistancy start to suffer. The last 2 visits will probably be my last. Food was served cold (undercooked & cold bacon & cold slimy eggs). Noisy, slow service, packed & food is just average (when it's cooked) & expensive when compared to other breakfast spots in & around Montreal.
