Alfa ressort comme l'adresse incontournable pour la poutine sur la rive sud, avec des portions généreuses, un fromage abondant et fondant, des frites croustillantes et une sauce savoureuse qui font l'unanimité; le menu inclut aussi des steamies et des smoked meats très appréciés et des hot dogs solides, le tout dans une ambiance de casse-croûte où le service rapide et le personnel chaleureux sont soulignés par de nombreux clients; même si certaines critiques évoquent une file importante, un stationnement pas toujours évident et un cadre parfois bruyant, les commentaires convergent sur la qualité constante et la valeur du repas, certains allant jusqu'à qualifier Alfa de meilleure poutine de Montréal ou du Québec et même de la meilleure au monde selon plusieurs avis; en outre le mode de paiement a évolué, passant d'une offre initialement cash-only à l'acceptation de cartes, ce qui améliore l'expérience; globalement, Alfa apparaît comme une institution conviviale où l'on peut se régaler à moindre coût, avec des portions généreuses et un goût qui fidélise les clients et les incite à revenir.
We enjoy leaving the city to quest for the best. Especially poutine & burgers. Sometimes it's just better the farther you go. To this end, we visited the renowned casse-croûte The excellent classic poutine there definitely lives up to the hype. Everything was as it should be: the wonderful gravy, cheese curds, & perfect fries. We also indulged in their incredible chicken burger & the essential Michigan hot dog.
A decent place if you want to satisfy a craving or just enjoy a good old poutine. The portion are very generous. Only hic is the cheese that was a bit too chewy. The service is quite fast, so even if there's a line things usually move very fast.

Alfa's is a great little spot to pick up a poutine! Their portions are large & full of sauce & cheese, & their service is fast! Keep in mind, they only take cash, so bring some or you can use their ATM.
Alfa is one of Quebecs pillars of poutine. Top three in my book. They only accept cash, but there is an ATM. Their poutine is a cheese lovers dream, their sauce has a pinch of paprika, & if you like hotdogs they serve steamed ones which in my humble opinion are the best.
Dropped by while in the area. This place has that old school casse croute feel & they're so fast! I ordered a smoked meat poutineand 3 hotdogs & by the time I paid & walked to the pickup area, it was ready. The hot dog was good & for 1.60 each it was great! The poutine had a generous amount of squeaky cheese curds & smoked meat & the gravy was very well balanced. My only gripe was that the fries are a little bit sweet. My personal preference is for fries to not be sweet in a poutine but overall the poutine was very good. Taking it on the road was a little bit hard because everything was straight lava for about 20 mins but that's because everything is fresh out of the fryer. If I'm in the area, I'd definitely come back
Alfa hot dog is located further out of the city center, retaining its local laid back chutzpah. This place is cash only (ATM on site) & the line quickly wraps around the building with neighborhood regulars - a reflection of its grassroots popularity. Alfa certainly does not skimp on the poutine magic. Cheese curds were extra squeaky & gravy was extra smooth. While drenched in gravy, the fries retained a fresh-fried crisp exterior yet soft interior. Smoked meat sandwich was simple & packed a punch: layers & layers of quality smokey meat. If you have time for a mild trek to Alfa, this homegrown fast food spot will not disappoint any poutine lover.

Poutine smoke meat 2.5/5 décevant smoke meat froid Grosse Poutine 3/5 ordinaire. J'ai dû mettre beaucoup de Ketchup pour goûter quelque chose Hot dog steamer 4/5 Cheeseburger 4/5 Ambiance très sombre
I was wondering about this place for a while finally got a chance to try their poutine. For the price the amount they serve is very generous I couldn't finish the medium loads of cheese & enough sauce not too salty, it's one of the best ones I've had worth the trip.
As a fan of poutine, I was looking for something simple & authentic. I saw this place recommended from Reddit. I got a regular poutine & oh la la...I was surprised by the serving of the dish for a small size. I loved the crispiness of the fries, the smoothness of the gravy, & the amount of cheese curds. Definitely would try it again when I am around the area!
Very crowded place. The line was outside the door! The Poutine was great!! I didn't care much for the cheese curds. Not because they were bad tasting but because I have a thing about texture. It was my 1st time, I'm sure I'll be back for more!!

First time here & definitely not the last, id consider myself a poutine connoisseur & this is easily top 3 poutines ive ever had, friendly staff & LOADED with fresh poutine cheese.
Pour ma part je trouve qu’ils ont perdu le « goût » propre à l’alfa d’y il a quelques années…frites différentes, mal cuites, sauce à Poutine épaisse & fade, cheese burger peu goûteux, pain sec. Portion généreuse. Ils vont quand à moi continuer à rouler sur leur réputation avec des aliments de moindre qualité
Service is INCREDIBLY efficient!! They have long lines of people but it goes very fast.
I ordered a large size poutine. The fries & sauce were delicious, the cheese I would've preferred a bit more melted (but objectively it was good). Portion was just what I expected!
