Review Summary

Patapoufs is widely regarded as a standout neighborhood destination in Montreal, celebrated for its high-quality pastries, diverse selection of fresh breads, and delicious sandwiches. Many visitors praise the flaky croissants, flavorful cakes, and consistent baked goods, often describing the bakery as a favorite local spot. While the food consistently earns high marks for freshness and variety, the customer experience is occasionally uneven. Several patrons report instances of errors with their orders and express frustration with takeaway coffee cup lids. Additionally, while many staff members are described as friendly and efficient, a segment of customers notes that the service can sometimes feel rushed, cold, or dismissive, and some point out the need for better temperature control in the dining area during hot weather.

I dislike doing this but this is some unacceptable behavior. I ordered two of the same items at the counter & was asked for tip whenever the item was already premade. The lady at the counter waited to see if I would pay the tip, saw that I didn't & specifically gave me burnt ones as some kind of misandrist punishment for not tipping her for putting pastries in a bag. What kind of service is this in 2026, does all of Montreal have to poisoned like this?

The pastries were delicious & the serving sizes were perfect. The people running the counters were very friendly & patient with us as we struggled to decide what to get. They also sell lots of other stuff, but I definitely recommend the pastries!

I love this place! Definitely the best café around.

There's a lot of products offered & they are all good, especially their baked goods, although sometimes their pastries can be hit or miss. If you want a cake I recommend the cheesecake, it doesn't disappoint.

The room itself is cosy & the service is alright, the workers are giving off the vibe that they're always in a rush. Otherwise I think it's a nice spot to chat & relax.

Great pastries, but we were charged for an extra item we didn't order & got no apology when we pointed it out.

Pastries are some of the best in town. Have been coming here for months. Would have given it 5 stars but their banana bread had freezer burn …. It was disgusting.

The 3 Patapoufs is the place to go if you want to have the best croissant (but not only) in Montreal (& I tried many places)!

Mostly going there every day to get my first coffee (& croissant) of the day.

To summarize; coffee, pastries, sandwiches & food in general are really good. A nice addition is that the team is great as well 👍

Great cafe! The service was excellent & the pastries were on another level! I'd highly recommend to come support & stop by! It was only a minute walk from our airbnb!
