Chicago native, John Beaudine has played and toured with legendary blues artists including Willie Dixon, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, James Cotton, Otis Rush, and Matt “Guitar” Murphy of Blues Brothers fame, as well as Rock and Roll Hall of Fame legend, Bo Diddley.
After graduating from the University of Chicago, John pursued his love for soul, blues and jazz at the legendary south side Chicago clubs Theresa’s Lounge, Buddy Guy’s Checkerboard, Queen Bee’s and Pepper’s Lounge.
A veteran of the horn sections of R & B masters Otis Clay and Tyrone Davis, John became a fixture at Chicago’s Kingston Mines, which led to extensive touring with the Chi-town Hustlers, featuring former B.B. King bassist, J.W. Williams and former Bobby Bland guitarist, Doug MacDonald.
Upon emigrating to Quebec, John worked with celebrated local stars such as, Serge Fiore (Harmonium), Dan Bigras, and Joey Tardif (Epopee Rock).
John has composed scores for TV including the CBC’s “Just for Laughs” series,
CTV News, and films. He is proud to lead his band Deep Blue in its mission to introduce Chicago style jazz and blues to Montreal audiences.
