The Iconic Bar Les Vieilles Portes in Saint-Sauveur is Coming Back to Life.

After closing its doors about a decade ago, Les Vieilles Portes, an institution on Rue Principale in Saint-Sauveur since 1979, is reopening in grand style under new management.

Purchased in 2022 by the A5 Hospitality group, the 1880 Victorian house has been completely transformed and brought back to life thanks to the vision of its two new owners: Kevin Latrem, a veteran in the restaurant industry and co-owner of several establishments including Babacool Laval and Name's on the way, and Samuel Paradis-Tremblay, a promising young chef opening his very first restaurant.

Executive chef and owner Samuel Paradis-Tremblay offers French cuisine that he describes as "fun dining," showcasing Quebec and Canadian products based on availability.

Les Vieilles Portes will start offering weekend brunches from mid-July.

The design was entrusted to the renowned Amlyne Philipps of La Chambre Design & Co, who recreated a chic and cozy European ambiance reminiscent of French Alpine chalets. The historic two-story house has been completely renovated, with the expanded kitchen transformed into a stunning open kitchen that guests will enjoy observing.

The expansive front terrace, spread over two levels, can accommodate 75 people and is adorned with planters of herbs and edible flowers that will be used to garnish dishes.
