After more than a decade of pushing the boundaries of Quebec gastronomy, Le Mousso has announced that it will serve its final guests on August 22, 2026. In a message shared on social media, co-owners Antonin Mousseau-Rivard and Katerine Mousseau explained that it is simply time for them to turn the page and make room for a new generation of restaurateurs.
Opened on Ontario Street East in 2015, Le Mousso quickly established itself as one of Quebec's premier fine dining destinations. Renowned for its creative cuisine showcasing local ingredients, the restaurant has left a lasting mark on Montreal's culinary scene through chef Antonin Mousseau-Rivard's imaginative tasting menus and his artistic approach to haute cuisine.
In their announcement, the owners emphasized that the decision is not the result of financial difficulties or declining business. Instead, they say they feel it is time to move on after eleven years dedicated to the project, while also wishing to "make room for the next generation" and contribute to the renewal of Quebec's restaurant scene.
Reservations will remain open until August 22, offering guests one final opportunity to experience-or rediscover-this iconic restaurant before its permanent closure. Gift certificate holders are encouraged to redeem them before that date or contact the team to request a refund.
As for what's next, Antonin Mousseau-Rivard and Katerine Mousseau have yet to reveal their future plans. The couple says this closure marks the end of one chapter rather than the end of their journey in the restaurant industry, with new projects expected to be announced in the future.
