Their pork chashu is the right amount of tender, their pork broth is absolutely addicting & consistent, & their restaurant's atmosphere reminds me a lot of my travels to Tokyo. Whenever I miss authentic tonkatsu ramen, I know I can rely on YY. Keep it up, YY! 10/10View more
Now we are really greedy. A big Japanese lunch, one ramen down; we are going for the next ramen hit. If you were not looking on the map app, you will probably miss the entrance. YYR has a discreet entrance, but actually joins on to the other side where they can have some bar food & drinks. But we are here for the ramen - apparently the richest tonkotsu broth in town. Well, it was. The noodles were also nice & al dente, that allow the soup to grip on to. So it justifies the slurping! The host was a really nice Chinese guy who explained the way to order. Had a chat about the way of life in Canada too. Lovely friendly atmosphere. After all, the whole point of travelling is to meet & learn from the locals. Right? If you like your tonkotsu broth thicker than the average, then this is the place for you (& me)!View more

Best pork broth ramen we tasted in Montreal. Enjoyed the authentic ramen stall ambience. Great service from a helpful waiter.View more
Stopped for a quick ramen with my son who lives in Montreal & loves this place - I can see why. The ramen broth was out of this world - flavourful, rich, indescribable! The noodles were perfect, the pork was perfect, everything was perfect, except, perhaps, the egg, which was kind of pungent. Did not spoil the dish, though. We also shared some crispy chicken "bites" - just as delicious as the ramen. Two ramen & the shared chicken was too much; we had to take a couple pieces of chicken home. All in all, I see why our so e loves this place, & if I lived in Montreal I'd soon become a regular. We walked by a couple times & there were lineups - obviously it's a popular spot.View more
Delicious Ramen. They also offer gluten free noodles for your Ramen. I ordered vegetable in chicken broth with chicken pieces - it was really good!View more
The tonkatsu (pork broth) is to die for!! It has a beautiful miso-y flavour & manages to be savoury & rich without feeling too heavy. I can't speak for the other broths, but the pork will not disappoint.View more
This is overrated. Not a 4.6. The reason I say that is because the food is not it. No flavour to the ramen & tastes bland. Broth was water & noodles were not up to par. Service is good though as waiter was nice & helpful. & the vibe & atmosphere inside was great & beautifulView more
It's unfortunate how good the photo of this ramen looks because I found it very average otherwise, while being very overpriced. I paid 31$ after tax & tips. You get a free choice of protein, 1/2 of an egg, chopped scallions, 1 nori & bamboo shoots. Anything else is going to cost a +2$ more. The noodles are okay, & I suspect they just use pre-made ones. I got the Tonkotsu broth & it didn't taste like much. Even got spicy miso (which costed 2$) added to it, but couldn't really taste any spiciness nor any relevant notes of miso. Service is fast which is a plus, but they're kind of tip hungry which is a bit weird & demanding to me.View more
I've eaten at a lot of ramen places & I would put this near the top. Broth is amazingly flavourful & the ingredients are all fresh & tasty. Atmosphere is cool, small space, darkness & the decor almost makes it feel like Japan. Not much seating so be prepared for a wait...View more
Très bon mais l'attente est longue.... C'est aussi très gras donc faut être prêt a MANGER quand on y va... Un broth out of this worldView more
The broth was very alright, nothing special to it. However, the small side dishes such as the radish or the ginger were a great addition to the meal. The takoyaki was very good. It's a little overpriced.View more
Visited with my group from out of town & this was quite possibly one of the best Tonkotsu Ramen dishes I've had in all of North America. The ability to make selections of toppings is fun & customizable. The broth was rich & delicious. The only criticism is I would have preferred a properly braised chashu for the price point but the rest of the dish genuinely made up for this. Almost went back the next day for seconds. Ps. Get the spicy Karaage, you won't be disappointed.View more
Cozy place! U customize ur ramen which is fun. Really really FRESH tasting broth i cant even describe it but it feels clean. It's just a little busy & packed but I'd say you get really good service, great portion, fair price, good food & good vibes ❤️ Try itView more
The ramen was very delicious & flavourful. I really enjoyed the fact that you can customize your salt preferences & toppings, such as green onions, pork belly or vegetables & adding seaweed & egg. The broth was very tasty & the noodles were fresh. I got the thin noodles, but they also offer thick ones. The atmosphere was very nice & the waiter was helpful. The wait time for the ramen was about 5-10 minutes. It's a great lunch spot, but they also have a dinner menu.View more
The Ramen (pork broth & thin noodles) was excellent! It was rich & creamy. Our server was helpful. You can actually see in the hall the noodles being made downstairs. I would highly recommend this place. I'd come back too. Just a note, this place is hidden in plain site. You'll walk right by it, not even realizing it. It doesn't look like a store front. The price was right for the quality & experience for two. Thank you!View more
I recently visited this ramen restaurant & was extremely impressed with both the food & service. I started off with the octopus balls, or T akoyaki, which were perfectly cooked & bursting with flavor. The tasty pork ramen that followed was also outstanding, with rich broth & tender slices of pork. To top off the meal, I enjoyed a refreshing white beer that I can't quite recall the name, I do remember how well it complimented the flavors of the meal. Speaking of the staff, they were incredibly friendly & accommodating throughout my visit. They made excellent recommendations, were attentive to my needs, & overall provided a top-notch dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend this ramen restaurant for anyone looking for a delicious & satisfying meal. The octopus balls, pork ramen, & accompanying beer were all highlights of my visit, & I will definitely be returning soon.View more
Great ramen spot. I had the chicken broth ramen with chicken. A decent portion of tender chicken thighs & broth was flavorful & hot!View more
The space is too narrow & dark. It's hard to find a spot in meal time. There is limited option to choose in the menu. The ramen broth is not special as other ramen stores. It tastes not bad but not great to be backView more
I know everyone loves this place, & it was good but it's so small & cramped. The pork was so tough in the ramen, & the broth lacked flavour. Thankfully they brought chili oil to the table. I liked the noodles, but overall wasn't super impressed unfortunately.View more
A disappointing experience with an average bowl of ramen. I was very enthusiastic about eating here as reviews were mostly positive & the place was specialized in ramen. The personnel was supper friendly & attentive, & the atmosphere was cozy & it almost make you felt as you were in an authentic japanese izayaka. I order a ramen with pork broth, thick noodles, pork shoulder & egg; However, the broth was somewhat bland, the noodles were thinner than expected, the pork & egg were cold, like out of the fridge cold which did not help with the overall taste, & at the portion felt not filling enough as I ended with way more broth than noodles. The ramen was pretty much on the same level as some decent instant noodles, nothing special but not really worth 20 dollars. The restaurant itself is not terrible but I expected more from it.View more
Super cute hole in the wall looking spot. The broth was lacking; not creamy & just very bland. That's the best way to describe it, very bland. The takoyaki however was amazing, & the service was very polite.View more
That was one of the best Ramens that I had. Try Chicken broth with seeweed & egg.View more
The veggie broth ramen could use more flavour, broadcasted no msg but tasted like the tofu in the salad might be seasoned with it. A very small venue not good for a group larger than 4. The wait can be up to half an hour to get in & there are no reservations. Very Tokyo style restaurant, good for going alone or with one other person because you will probably be seated at the baView more
Had the pork tonkotsu ramen, very delicious. Broth was great. A must try.View more
I was here for solo lunch. I arrived around 12pm & sat at the bar. Not too busy at that time but did start to get busy while I was eating. Love this place - food ambience service - will be back next time I am in Montreal. I had the Korokke (potato croquette) starter which came in an order of 2. Crunchy on the outside & buttery soft on the inside garnished with thinly julienned carrots green scallion bits & topped with a tangy yummy sauce. The main I had was the Tonkotsu (pork broth) ramen with thin noodles & pork shoulder topped with scallion seaweed & with a half marinated ramen egg (ajitama). Condiments provided on the side included benishoga (thin strips of pickled ginger) & chili oil, also sesame seeds. I haven't seen these provided at other ramen restaurants before & will surely ask for them - makes such a difference brings out the flavours ! The broth was superb. Creamy not too salty. The noodles were just the right amount of chewy. The pork shoulder was fresh & perfectly seasoned. Everything was generously portioned. The restaurant interior felt like I was in Japan somewhere, not Montreal. Staff were super friendly. My favourite ramen resto too bad they are not in Toronto! Will be back also yo try sister restaurant (next door same building) Ichigo Ichie for Japanese tapas & cocktails).View more
Hands down best ramen I've had in Montreal! The broth is too delicious!View more
Ramen is super tasty, a bit pricey though. Broth is so creamy & I suggest to get the one with pork broth & pork meat with thick noodles.View more
