Overcharge too much. We flew from Toronto to meet up with friends. The same brand in Toronto is cheaper. Also, the seafood congee tastes a bit weird. All the service are quite nice. But it seems tips is mandatory here. We don't know if it is Quebec culture. If you dont pay the tips, they will chase you for tips, which makes people feel a bit uncomfortable. I wonder if the waitress get normal pay here instead of getting few dollars like American.View more
Ji Chang Fun is one of my Cantonese favourites -- stuff my mom & grandmother used to make, that I delighted in. I frankly can't be bother to make it -- actually, I have almost no idea of even where to start. So Ji Chang Fun is my go to for this delightful food when I'm feeling the need for old school ji chang fun & congee. The food here is very authentic -- relatively inexpensive, quick service, & like most authentic Chinese restaurants leaves a little to be desired with respect to atmosphere. But it's pretty reasonably priced. Have the beef/shrimp & Chinese cabbage -- it's delicious, & if you are really feeling in the authentic mode, there's nothing better than the congee with pork & preserved duck eggs.
