About us
In 1963, there was a Japanese baseball team known as YAKYU CICADAS. They were very popular with the whole city and the stadium was sold out for every home game. One of the stadium's most popular attractions, aside from the team, was the fried chicken stand owned by the Blind Chicken Farmer. People lined up to taste the special blend of spices, the quality and the love he put into every bite. But a dark side hovered over the team...
For 24 consecutive years, the Cigales finished every season with a 0-64 record. Yes, they never won a single game. The townspeople didn't care, because they still had excitement and reason to rejoice! The team was disbanded in 1987 when the league president had had enough, "I can't keep a team that can't win a game in our league any longer. It's a shame for Japan". He made the decision to put an end to the Cigales. The townspeople were devastated, what would they do without their beloved team? The blind chicken farmer had an idea! He bought the franchise and turned his popular fried chicken stand into a brick-and-mortar store called YAKYU FRIED CHICKEN. He would hire all the players to work in his restaurant as they had no more jobs. At first the players were completely against the idea and tried to be traded with other teams. But since the players were so horrible that no team wanted them, they reluctantly accepted the job. THE END!

WOW… incredible chicken
Visiting Montreal for the first time from Scotland & this was round the corner from our accommodation & we were so glad we popped in for dinner. Some of the best chicken I've ever had & the poutine was really good too. The homemade sauces are also excellent, especially the hot sauce. Would highly recommend this restaurant.View more

Le poulet est incroyable. Frais non congelé. Panure superbe. Rien à dire de négatif sur les burgers, bien au contraire. Poutine est correct, la Buffalo est bien meilleure. Gagnerait à utiliser des frites fraîches style « belle province » au lieu de frites congelées. Bravo, belle découverte, je vais y retourner.View more

Bravo .. je dirais que ce resto est un mélange de deux rôtisseries complètement différentes ! BELLE INNOVATION ! Je me suis commandé un 2 morceaux en combo, agréablement surpris ..les frites sont excellente, sans parler du poulet & de ses épices spéciaux. JE RECOMMANDE , service très courtois , poli & dynamique. POUR MOI , les bémols reste que le resto est tout petit ..même la terrasse..& le service est plutôt lent car tu es servi par la même personne qui sert au caisse & qui cuisine..basic mettons. Commande ; Trio 3 mcx de poulet frit, frite, s. choux & coke diet + Burger Nashville avec grande poutine régulière Commentaires; Le POULET 😱😱😱 Mais que PFK aie r'habiller ! Le poulet était excellent, juteux, moileux & bien assaisonné ! Pour quelqu'un qui a les papilles gustatives d'une feuille de papier, j'ai pu VRAIMENT goûter la panure qui était croquante & les épices qui me fesait saliver !
