Afficher toutsoup(20) wontons(15) pork(11) sesame(9) spicy(8) sauce(8) price(8) wonton soup(7) quality(6) shrimp(6) dumpling(6) music(5)We walked into the restaurant & it was completely empty. No customer around, no one working around. There was also no music, just the sound of refrigerators. We walked to the cash register & there was still no one in the back. As we were about to leave, we saw someone pop up behind the cash register & we decided to give the food a try. We ordered one spicy wonton & one regular soup wonton. It took another 30 mins or so for the food to be served even though we were the only table. The owner did play some music which made the atmosphere a bit more enjoyable but the overall decor wasn't great. Mostly stock boxes & used walls. The food itself though was quite amazing. The flavours from the wonton were great & it paired so well with the different soups we tried. Furthermore, it was only around 10$ a bowl & it ended up being quite filling which was nice. We only saw the owner one more time when he served us the food & we never saw them again for the rest of the night even though we stayed at the restaurant for another hour or so.
I lived in China for 1.5 years & coming to this place threw me back there. This place is so genuine, & its flavors beat every pretentious competitor out there. Give this lovely couple a chance to take care of your palate. I had the Shanghai original spicy soup - tasty, comforting, & authentic. Great quality & quantity for the price. If you're super hungry, get a couple of items from the menu. It's still gonna be very cheap.
Oh, & the Chinese music is the ultimate touch.
This restaurant slaps hard.
The classic wonton sesame were the best followed by the spicy wonton with egg yolk.
Those two are most definitely recommended.
The siomai & black bean noodles were also good, but not out of this world.
Please give this restaurant a try, service is a bit slow & atmosphere is normal, but the food is worth it.
Tried the Red wonton soup with pork & egg was spicy at proper level & price is perfect for what we got
We each had one serving of noodles & one serving of their wontons to complete the meal & it was delicious. If you like spice they do add the correct amount of spice in the spicy wonton soup Will definitely come back again. The funny thing was that my friend ordered a Coca-Cola & they gave a mechanic Coca-Cola. I ordered a soy milk as my drink & they gave me 1 l carton of soy milk LOL. Why would that be 1 serving Will come again. The bathroom could use some renovating though.
The wonton was so good! It was not too spicy & I really loved the pork & shrimp wonton! The price was really affordable & it was a hidden gem!
Compact, tucked away wonton shop with some of the best wonton soup in downtown! Spice level of their spicy wonton is perfect, hearty & fresh, perfect for winter. Tables & chairs are clean & plain, but the cracked walls & storage boxes in the corner make it seem a little worse for wear. But what it lacks in atmosphere it makes up for in taste! Servings contain around 8 wonton but feels like more with how big each are! Highly recommend for a snack or light lunch in between classes or errands!
