Located in the popular neighborhood of Village/Centre-Sud in Montreal, it is becoming increasingly difficult to choose among the many Japanese restaurants that are sprouting like mushrooms. Fortunately for everyone, restaurant Uchi on Amherst Street is here to reassure us that there's nothing to worry about, this is a true Japanese restaurant.
Uchi proposes a unique and varied menu consisting of appetizers, seafood and tasty rolls. Their mouth-watering small hors d'oeuvres will beautifully compliment the delicious main meals of this unrivaled cuisine. We can also find on the menu some specialties such as sushi, tuna Tataki, spicy scallop roll and beef sashimi. Furthermore, we added Szechuan cuisine to our menu. Not only are the sushis amazing (as many comments have already mentioned it) but their stir frys are Top notch. Always quality ingredients. Simply delicious!!

Easily some of the best sushi I've ever had. This is really a true gem & we stumbled upon it as we are staying in a hotel near the restaurant. Service was amazing - the staff were so attentive!! The fish is insanely fresh & each roll exceeded our expectations. We will for sure be coming back!!!

I love this place. Have had great experiences with both take out & dine in. The salmon tataki & tuna tataki are fantastic. Bring your own wine/beer is a nice bonus.

Food is beautifully displayed & very tasty! Service was a bit slow, it took 45 minutes to get our food. I was surprised that there was no drinks like sake or wine available since the price point is on the expensive side. Dining room gets noisy during peak dinner time & it's hard to hear each other.
