About

Tusok-Tusok centers on the vibrant world of Filipino street food, emphasizing the bold flavors of grilled skewers and traditional snacks. The menu highlights various meats and vegetables charred over an open flame, resulting in a distinct smoky aroma and a satisfyingly crispy texture. Savory glazes and tangy dipping sauces accompany each serving, providing a balance of salt, acid, and heat. The kitchen prepares each portion with fresh ingredients to capture the authentic spirit of home-style island cooking. Small bites range from succulent pork belly to marinated tofu, all served hot directly from the grill. This establishment maintains a simple approach to preparation, allowing the natural juices and spice blends to take center stage in every dish provided for the table.

Review Summary

Tusok-Tusok offers a nostalgic experience for those seeking authentic Filipino street food in Montreal, with many diners praising the crispy empanadas, flavorful kwek kwek, and classic skewers like fish balls and isaw. While the food effectively captures the taste of traditional snacks, feedback remains mixed regarding the pricing and portion sizes, which some feel are a bit high. Concerns were also raised about excess grease on fried items and the lack of rice options, yet the establishment remains a popular destination for those wanting to enjoy unique and nostalgic treats that are otherwise difficult to find in the city.

Been there today & I ordered the 14,99$ 2 stick of 3 pieces of kwek-kwek & 2 stick of 3 pieces of shomeig -TAKE OUT- with beverage I took the buco undrinkable way too sweet tasted like chemical 2 SMALL showpow for 8$+ & for my take out I didn't get any sauce that WAS SUPPOSED TO come with my order very disappointed....for the price you pay staff should give at least a minimum of attention ain't have plans to go back there I prefer to go in Philippines it's 1/4 the price & look & taste way better! BTW FROM WHAT I EAR TUSOK-TUSOK IS OWNED BY THE SAME GUY FROM MANILA CUISINE NO WONDER WHY IS SO EXPENSIVE.

I wanted to share my experience with the Tusok-tusok street food, my friend & I were very excited about this new restaurant! That was Sunday evening & we decided to go out & go to rest.when we were inside there's no other choices available except the fish ball & quick-quik I'm not sure if spelling good. so we tried . & can you imagine for 1 stick fish ball & quik ball 1 with 2 sm drinks. The price was too high & the food was cold. I told my friend so disgusting what we eat. Not suitable to recommend!

I was so excited to try it because of all the hype, but I left feeling disappointed. The empanada was too salty, the dough wasn't crispy enough, & the egg was undercooked. The taho was also bland.it was too watery & seemed to be missing flavor.

The skewers were also overpriced for the portion size. I understand that everything is more expensive these days, & I don't mind paying more if the food is really good. But paying that much for two small skewers just didn't feel worth it.

That said, the staff were very friendly & welcoming, which I really appreciated. I truly wanted to love this place, but unfortunately, the food just wasn't for me.

This place is a 10/10 by all parameters!! The food was amazing, but the staff were also so personable & the chef was extremely kind!!! We weren't even gonna dine in but decided to stay because of them :D

We had the empanadas & they exceeded my expectations by far. Worth every bite & worth a wait.

This is the best place to get deep fried empanadas! They even fry it twice so it's super crispy :))
