TSUJIRI was founded in 1860 by Riemon Tsuji who was renowned for his spirit of “YUWA”, meaning "continue to innovate and sustain the tradition". His statue was built in Kyoto, Japan to honor his contribution to the Japanese tea industry. Mr. Tsuji has refined the cultivation of Gyokuro (the highest grade of Japanese green tea) and his method is still being used to this day. He is also the inventor of the tea box that preserves the longevity and freshness of the tea leaves during transportation, making fresh tea from Kyoto available to other Japanese cities a century ago. In 2010, CHAHO, which means tea shop in Japanese, was first established outside of Japan to carry on our founder’s spirit and to serve fresh tea to our customers worldwide.

This place is going head to head with closeby competitor Matcha Zanmai, with similar offerings centering around Matcha & Hojicha. Tsujiri does have a larger menu with some other items not found at Zanmai however. It also offers more seating for customers, which is especially useful for the cold months. I went for the matcha ice cream & was satisfied with the texture & flavour of the dessert. I'm not a fanatic of Matcha but definitely appreciate it.View more

Ordered their signature parfait & matcha latte. Their matcha quality is ok not too great. Their parfait was disappointing for the price. Specially when you are just one block away from Matcha Zanmai. only downside is that, while it has tons of seating places, the cafe gets crowded really fast & almost never has any free tables, so get there early!View more

It is known for its matcha beverages. You can customize your beverages to your liking including for those who are lactose intolerant. Despite it being chilly, my GO-TO is the O-mathca ice blend! A good balance of matcha & ice for a savoury drink no matter the time of the year.View more
