Review Summary

Tsak-Tsak is widely regarded as a hidden gem offering a delicious and diverse menu that creatively blends Malagasy and Quebecois influences. Many guests praise the high quality, freshness, and flavorful presentation of the dishes, with specific highlights including the brunch options, unique sauces, and house-made beverages. While the vast majority of visitors highlight the warm, welcoming, and accommodating nature of the staff, experiences regarding service efficiency and portion sizes can occasionally vary. The atmosphere is generally described as cute and cozy, making it an excellent spot for dates or casual gatherings, though some diners note that the noise level can be quite high during busy periods.

First time trying Malagasy cuisine & the sambosa sauces blew me away-tangy, spicy, & full of character. The house chili sauce tasted just like an authentic Burundian hot sauce-fantastic. The mint-lemon sorbet was also a winner: super refreshing & beautifully served.

On the downside, the interior feels worn, pancakes were bland, potatoes a bit burnt, & the beef curry leaned more tomato-sauce than a well-spiced stew (though the spice blend gave the meat a distinct gaminess).

Still, the flavors in the sauces & sorbet make it worth the visit.

They have big portions. I got the gluoton & my bf got the egg platter (forgot the name). Every element of the dish was well made, even the salad! Their house made chili sauce also added a nice kick to the food. For drinks we got the chai latte & the chocolate baileys coffee. Both were really good. Would come back when we're back in Montreal

A cozy restaurant with a diverse menu to satisfy everyone. From classic brunch dishes like crêpes & Benedictine eggs to unique Malagasy specialties such as Misao (fried noodles) & special Tsak Tsak soup (dumpling noodle soup). The beverage menu features a variety of hot & cold drinks with charming names like Sunbeam & Cute Sin. Inside, the space is limited with closely spaced tables & a bit too loud to hold a normal conversation. The staff was friendly, the Americano coffee was rich & bold, & I loved my salmon Chic, adding a touch of chili sauce from the little jar on each table to give the dish a kick.
