Is it the sweet smell of the baklava? Or the lovely smile on the workers' faces? Or is it the gooey melted cheese on the pita? All of these elements make my experiences going to Trip de bouffe always lovely. The food is fresh. The vibe is fresh. My breath? Garlic-ey, but in the best way. I cannot express to you how amazing of an experience you will have at Trip de bouffe, help yourself & get that butt over there right now! Shoutout to our king who had us try the vegan cake, it was great!
The best Lebanese restaurant in a city that doesn't lack good adresses. When you are ordering don't forget to turn around a grab a bag of pita bread, you won't regret it.
Very kind employees, the homemade pitas are delicious, & they also offer quick meals of great quality
Great falafel pita wrap. The sign outside brought me in. The wrap has fresh mint among other herbs & is quite satisfying.
It was a rainy October afternoon when I decided to stop by Trip de Bouffe to grab a quick lunch. Usually when I walk by, the place has a lineup to the door, but likely due to the weather - & my late lunch - the restaurant had a calm energy I've rarely seen there.
Inside, there's a small seating area by the window flanked by walls covered with art & local event fliers. Towards the counter are shelves stacked with Lebanese snacks & desserts along with fridges filled with ready to eat meals & Lebanese cheeses.
I scanned the extensive menu & ordered a Poulet Regulier: marinated chicken with cheese rolled into a soft pita with pickled turnip, tomato, onion, olive, labneh & mint.
I only realized afterwards that adding all these toppings is an extra $2.50 (+$1 for the labneh) - which turned my $9 pita into $14. A fair price but more than I planned to spend on lunch.
The pita was delicious & the addition of the mint was a clever way to add sweetness while the Labneh (soft cheese) added creaminess to the mix. I do wish there was a bit more chicken but as a whole it was quite substantial.
The atmosphere here really shines in the summer, when avenue mont-royal is pedestrian & you can enjoy your meal on their outdoor set up of tables & chairs.
Really wanted to like this place but it's just not that good unfortunately. & $26 for 2 pies & 2 drinks is insane!!! Cool concept just not the best pitas. Old & reheated :/
By pie I mean manakeesh/meat/cheese pies
