An absolute jewel in the heart of downtown Montreal. If you haven't been, it's time to visit. We visited this restaurant last night & we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Beautiful ambiance & amazing food which is worth elaborating...I had their escargot as a starter & gnocchi rose for main & my friend had smoked salmon & Osso Buco. My meal was to die for. We also shared a tiramisu & fried gnocchis for dessert which both were so yummy. Last but not least...Exceptional service. Mauro, the owner who served us was very inviting & charming. Amazing food. Tasted like the home cooked favourites I grew up enjoying. Super friendly service too. Portion & quality was worth the price. I enjoyed the veal parmigiana with upgrade to gnocchi as a side (smooth as butter). My date had the seafood linguine & finished his plate (even though he was full two thirds of the way through). Je viens à peine d'arriver que déjà l'odeur de la cuisine parfume mes papilles gustatives.Mon entrée de saumon fumé était au dessus de mes attentes tout simplement.J'étais impatient de voir ce médaillon de boeuf. * Seul & unique éléments négatif de cette expérience culinaire est que je demeure à l'extérieur de la région de Montréal, je devrai être patient pour revenir à cet endroit servi par un personnel aussi chaleureux que professionnel . If it's authentic, tasty Italian food you're after then Trattoria Trestevere, on Crescent Street in downtown Montreal, is worth checking out. The cozy interior has a distinct European vibe, a great start to your visit. My starter, a Mixed Salad, was fresh & simple. I followed that with an exceptional Chicken Parmigiana. The chicken was moist & breaded just right. The tomato sauce & mozzarella cheese were so tasty & fresh. The pasta too was fresh & cooked to perfection. For dessert I tried the Fried Gnocchi, dusted with icing sugar, on a thin bed of Hazelnut sauce. Delicious! My only caution was a surprising lack of attention to serving etiquette. Each of the three or four Staff that served us, while generally pleasant, reached directly in front of me on a few occasions. I would certainly return to try other items on the menu.Voir plus

My wife & I just got back from dinner. We had an amazing experience. The owner & our waiter were extremely welcoming & friendly. We had a lot of laughs. Went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Petit restaurant sans prétentions, à l'ambiance chaleureuse servant une cuisine Italienne traditionnelle. J'ai choisi ce restaurant car je voulais le faire connaître à mon homme. J'y suis allé il y'a environ 45 ans. Le service & la nourriture étaient tels que dans mes souvenirs. Nous avons choisi la soupe minestrone & la salade césar en entrée & le poulet & le veau parmesan comme plats principaux. Tout était délicieux. Je me dois de rapporter un irritant qui a un peu terni notre expérience culinaire. À notre arrivée on nous a apporté deux délicieux petits pains. Mon conjoint a demandé au serveur un autre pain pour terminer son repas. Ce dernier nous a informé qu'il serait facturé. Quand on m'a apporté l'addition, j'ai été estomaqué de voir que les trois pains étaient chargés. Considérant le prix payé pour le repas & que les pains ne sont même pas sur le menu je considère que c'est inacceptable. Nous avons aimés la nourriture mais cet irritant fait en sorte que nous n'y retournerons plus. C'est selon moi un manque de reconnaissance envers des clients qui ont payé une somme considérable pour un repas au restaurant. Du jamais vue !!!Voir plus
