Tinc Set Montréal specializes in the art of rotisserie chicken and authentic Spanish tapas within a vibrant, communal setting. The menu centers on whole birds roasted to perfection, accompanied by a selection of flavorful small plates such as patatas bravas, marinated olives, and vibrant seasonal vegetable medleys. This establishment emphasizes bold, traditional flavors executed with precision using high-quality ingredients sourced for their depth of taste. The dining environment encourages sharing and casual interaction, reflecting the lively spirit of a classic Iberian bodega. Guests encounter a straightforward approach to Mediterranean comfort food where the focus remains entirely on the integrity of the core ingredients. Each dish demonstrates a commitment to authentic preparation methods that celebrate the simplicity of Spanish culinary traditions through well-balanced textures and robust seasoning profiles throughout the entire menu.
Tinc Set Montréal draws praise for a knowledgeable and approachable sommelier and for delivering food, ambiance and service that many describe as outstanding, with the octopus singled out as possibly the best in Montreal. The staff speak several languages, which enhances the dining experience, and the menu features crowd favorites like anchovy toast, tuna tostada, patatas bravas, a half roasted chicken, and a churro, though the chicken can be a touch dry and the churro arrived slowly on a busy night. Service is charming but occasionally inconsistent in timing, especially when several dishes arrive, yet the overall vibe remains very pleasant and relaxed. Wine is well chosen, with many guests enjoying French selections to accompany the flavors, and the experience overall suggests a Mediterranean influenced dining moment worth returning to for a quick bite and a glass of wine.
Outstanding creative dining experience. Lawrence was the perfect server making super recommendations & ensuring we were happy throughout the evening. We actually started at their sister restaurant but when the server saw my wife didn't look happy with the menu due to personal dietary restrictions she suggested we go next door. She even came to see us to see if we were happy!! Amazing. We had the olives, almonds, dorade & chicken leading up to the churros. In listing the above I'm leaving out details I wish I could replicate but could not so will just have to return.
It wasn't my first time at Tinc Set, but I can honestly say that it's always a pleasant experience. Their tapas are phenomenal, & every night they have 3 different types of wine, that they serve by the glass. Last Saturday the wines were a white, orange & red from Catalonia, all natural & privately imported. The service was outstanding, & the food was out of this world. I went with two of my friends & we practically ordered the entire menu. The dishes that truly stood out were the scallop ceviche, served on a bed of guacamole, the grilled octopus with mashed potatoes & chorizo oil, & tuna tostada , which was the most flavoured tostada , I had ever had. The sauce on tuna was made of smoke sea breem, it was creamy, zesty & had a great kick to it. Thd brussel sprouts were insane, deep fried with a creamy sauce made with anchovies. The churros are unconventional & a must try as well!
Un bijoux d'Outremont ! Cet endroit est fabuleux. La nourriture est excellente ! & que dire du service ? Juste sublime. Tinc set doit rentrer dans carnet d'adresse !!
The waiter was extremely knowledgeable about all the wines in stock & gave an excellent description & suggestions. Makes me want to return to try the other wines he had suggested as well. As for the restaurant itself; the food was excellent & without any pretentious vibe or outdated dress code. Very warm, cozy & welcoming. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for top notch restaurants that won't break your budget or treat you snobby. It was wonderful
Great ambience & amazing orange wine but terrible service. I suspect they didn't like us because we're early 20s & anglo.Did not feel welcome & we left pretty quickly. Also do not come here just for a glass of wine, you have to order food. Oh & a glass of wine is really half a glass of wine.
