Paid $7.15 for a small soy latte … since when are they using Kirkland brand soy milk? For that price y'all should be using better quality milk like you used to. I am very disappointed.
It's a nice cafe at Westmount, a bit pricey but it's normal I guess considering the neighborhood. It's always nice to come here to take a coffee & relax. Love the plants inside, contrasting with the modern black interior decor & furniture. The coffee is not bad, the latte art could be better though. Not a big variety of viennoiseries is also a point to improve
This café is disappointing. No teas, chai latte or anything non-coffee based besides a hot chocolate. Fair enough since it's a'café'. But the way it was communicated by the staff felt arrogant. The hot chocolate wasn't good too. Also no cocoa powder for your cappuccino, they like to keep it real simple, & standard. Cold ambiance overall.
They only had coffee & hot chocolate, they didn't have teas, chai lattes, matcha's or the infusions that were listed on the menu, so I ended up ordering a hot chocolate that wasn't that good. Service was ok, the music was so low that you couldn't hear it so it was a really awkward atmosphere.
Great place to hang out & put in a bit of work. Its a nice cafe with good seating & I really like the cafe there! I usually go for the espresso but I've ordered the cappuccino & Latte, & it came out amazing! Great cafe in the westmount/sherbrooke area & I'm glad I live around it.
Decent place, minimalist-millennial-ish design. Better than the over-busy & whatever-whatever-shoot-me-now-this-is-just-another Starbucks two or three blocks away. They have these oddly flavoured latte mixes (ie. lavender, corn) they sell in pouches or make for you on-site & they're kind've fun. Not much place to sit but that makes the place less crowded. The pastries are ok. The overall feel of place is ok. The other Standard in the Mile End is nearly identical but just seems to "pop" more because it has more natural light & better people-watching opportunities. What I particularly like is dark & bohemian-esque handsome stubbled French-from-France guy who often mans the place (as well as the other Standard in the Mile-End). He's got a lot of character, doesn't speak much, & has a Javier-Bardem kind've look. He just seems a bit salty, sly, & like he's got hot takes on the culture but won't share them unless you play it cool & get to know him. He fascinates me.
