In Old Montreal, just south of the Financial District, sits The Farsides. Brought to you by John Edward Gumbley (Bord’Elle) and the Jegantic team, the Farsides is an edgy new take on the restaurant and bar scene. Our blend of culinary styling sets the exotic far eastern flavours of Thailand’s shores crashing into the far Western Beaches of Hawaiian cuisine. The result of this fusion is something we like to call Thaiwaiian. A sumptuous combination of authentic Thai and Hawaiian delicacies, merging familiar flavours with elevated function.
Not only do we consider the Farsides to be a unique take on cuisine, we also aim to please with a brand new re-imagining of the Tiki bar concept. Our mixology program features no less than a dozen modern interpretations of classic cocktails you would normally only expect to find on the Islands.
Stepping into the Farsides will be like walking into our version of an alleyway in Brooklyn circa 1992. Complete with brick walls as high as the eye can see, fire escapes, graffiti laced facades and believe it or not our very own hand painted basketball court. Add a touch of the exotic with jungle like overgrowth set to the beat of 80’s & 90’s hip pop and nostalgic memorabilia from the golden age of rap and what you’ll find is The Farsides. Montreal you might not know us but we know you very well.

What completely ruined the experience is horrible service. Waitress did mention she was brand new, but that's not an excuse for complete lack of service. I had a solo dinner as I am on a work trip, & from the get go she was clearly not interested in serving me ( large parties who will yield larger tip out were her priorities). My food arrived promptly & I was forgotten about for the rest of the night, no water service or cheking in at all. This is where it goes downhill - I finished my meal & was trying to flag someone to pay the bill, spoke to TWO staff members who kept saying - she is coming, she is coming ...15!!! min later still noone & no bill. I got up, put my coat on & had to stay near hostess stand for another solid 5 min untill she finally came up to me mumbled something & handed me wet bill...This is completely unacceptable at the restaurant of this level & price range. Completely ruined entire experience, as I was really looking forward to trying them out especially due to unique atmosphere. PS: I paid my bill in full, & tipped of course.View more
The chicken burger & sangria was delicious The manager Steven was very fun & kindView more
Can't comment on the food as we didn't eat there. We came here after dinner for drinks as we were told DJ played 90s r&b. It was a vibe & we had an amazing time. We hung out at the bar & danced the night away. Staff took care of us & would def recommend if you're a millennial 🤣.View more
L'assiette de Burger & frite excellent prix non abordableView more
Really great atmosphere. It's lively & original. The drinks are good, but not as specialized as I was hoping for. The meal portion sizes are absurd. The images on Google misrepresent the quantity. Order 2 plates if you want it to be a meal size. We had the general Tao & the poke (which is just cubed salmon.... & all the fancy extras written about it on the menu is just a drizzled sauce)View more

The service from Janelle was incredible. She made sure our waters were always filled, came to see us every few times to see if we needed anything. We took the pre-made menu for 8, but they accomodated us the platters for 6 people, which we asked. The food was really good, the only thing was that the chicken was a bit too salty & the fish & chip too overcooked. But overall, we really liked the food & our cocktails/mocktails! The restaurant turning into a kind of club was really fun too. The DJ played a lot of old school r&b/pop & we had a great time for my sister's bachelorette.View more
Really cool place to go out for a drink & a bite. Food is good but personally I find it a bit pricey for what you get, but they have really interesting stuff in the menu. Drinks are really good & the atmosphere is great. Service can improve, but it wasn't bad.View more
The atmosphere was very cool. I enjoyed the music & the decor. It was unfortunate that despite making a reservation for two, over a week ago, they somehow didn't have a table for us. Annoying but whatever the bar was fine. The service was mid. It took a while to be acknowledged after we sat. The drink I ordered, a Mai Thai was not like any other Mai Thai I've ever had, & not in a good way. It was very carbonated & light. Mai Thais are a traditional drink, & they totally missed the mark on it. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't $18CAD. I made the mistake of ordering the Thai Basil Rib Eye for $59CAD. It was extremely fatty, & the plate had 1000 flavors going on, but none of them were Thai basil. The fries were good but very salty. This was supposed to be our big fun dinner out for our weekend in Montreal, & it was extremely disappointing. If you enjoy Thai food, don't be deceived cause this isn't it. If you want to look cool on Instagram & leave hungry, check it out.View more
Great atmosphere! Pedro gave us a lil tour of the place & the food was WOW!View more
For the money, the food here is not worth it in my opinion. I can appreciate the atmosphere, however. Definitely a unique restaurant with a fun decor. The DJ in the front was a nice touch as well. As for the food, generally speaking, everything just seemed overpriced & underwhelming. Specifically the burger, fries, & the pineapple chicken appetizer. All left something to be desired in terms of flavor & texture. The drinks are also quite expensive for not much content.View more
Place is nice, service is good. But the food is below standard for that price. Meat was overcooked, salmon tartare did not taste like sashimi-level salmon.View more
Beautiful place. Great service. The portions..... Come on! Be ready to hit up McDonald's after you eat hereView more
View more
Belle découverte :)View more
