About us
In Old Montreal, just south of the Financial District, sits The Farsides. Brought to you by John Edward Gumbley (Bord’Elle) and the Jegantic team, the Farsides is an edgy new take on the restaurant and bar scene. Our blend of culinary styling sets the exotic far eastern flavours of Thailand’s shores crashing into the far Western Beaches of Hawaiian cuisine. The result of this fusion is something we like to call Thaiwaiian. A sumptuous combination of authentic Thai and Hawaiian delicacies, merging familiar flavours with elevated function.
Not only do we consider the Farsides to be a unique take on cuisine, we also aim to please with a brand new re-imagining of the Tiki bar concept. Our mixology program features no less than a dozen modern interpretations of classic cocktails you would normally only expect to find on the Islands.
Stepping into the Farsides will be like walking into our version of an alleyway in Brooklyn circa 1992. Complete with brick walls as high as the eye can see, fire escapes, graffiti laced facades and believe it or not our very own hand painted basketball court. Add a touch of the exotic with jungle like overgrowth set to the beat of 80’s & 90’s hip pop and nostalgic memorabilia from the golden age of rap and what you’ll find is The Farsides. Montreal you might not know us but we know you very well.

Mon expérience a été bien. Je suis allé fêter mon anniversaire là-bas, mais je crois que j'ai espéré beaucoup plus. La nourriture n'était pas mal, ça a été bien, mais il n'y avait pas beaucoup de menu à choisir & presque tout était épicé & c'est pour ça que je dis que je ressens quelque chose qui m'a manqué. Le service c'est été génial, mais c'est quand même un resto. J'ai lu à propos du resto, il s'agit d' être un des meilleurs resto dans tout Montreal pour être dans le MTL a la Table. Mais personnellement pour un titre comme ça il faut avoir les plus génial plats avec des bons goûts. Moi je donne 3 étoiles.View more

Moi & mon copain avons réserver pour le 31 décembre des billets vip à 200.00$ ce qui nous donnais droit à notre entrée, une table & 200.00 $ en crédit alcool .ce qui nous semblait un bon deal mais arriver la bas aucune table de disponible je suis rester 1h avec mon manteau dans les bras l'hôtesse était plus intéresser à être dans le vidéo que mon copain filmait que de nous trouver une table on na finis par faire le décompte à 12h pris debout dans le coin des marche le crédit alcool était seulement sur les bouteilles & non les cocktails & nous étions seulement 2 donc une bouteille de fort à 2 c'est quand même bcp j'aurais préféré avoir quelques cocktail mais heureusement le gérant nous a trouver une place au bar & nous a offert un drink .mais honnêtement c'était la première fois & la dernière fois pour un gros évènement c'était vraiment mal organiser & à l'hôtesse pas la meilleur idée de prendre des photo avec un duck face à 2 pouce de mon copain surtout lorsque les billet vip vendu se résume à se que nous avons finalement eu . La place est super l'ambiance est vraiment bonne mais svp ne vendez pas quelque chose lorsque vous ne l'avez pas jadore votre club mais cette soirée m'a déçu.View more

Excellent food & service in a cool space. Perhaps the best meal we've had in our short visit to Old Montreal. We enjoyed several cocktails, skewers & imperial rolls, pineapple tao, short ribs, & chicken wings-all of which had a nice balance of spicy, sweet, & savory.
