About us
In Old Montreal, just south of the Financial District, sits The Farsides. Brought to you by John Edward Gumbley (Bord’Elle) and the Jegantic team, the Farsides is an edgy new take on the restaurant and bar scene. Our blend of culinary styling sets the exotic far eastern flavours of Thailand’s shores crashing into the far Western Beaches of Hawaiian cuisine. The result of this fusion is something we like to call Thaiwaiian. A sumptuous combination of authentic Thai and Hawaiian delicacies, merging familiar flavours with elevated function.
Not only do we consider the Farsides to be a unique take on cuisine, we also aim to please with a brand new re-imagining of the Tiki bar concept. Our mixology program features no less than a dozen modern interpretations of classic cocktails you would normally only expect to find on the Islands.
Stepping into the Farsides will be like walking into our version of an alleyway in Brooklyn circa 1992. Complete with brick walls as high as the eye can see, fire escapes, graffiti laced facades and believe it or not our very own hand painted basketball court. Add a touch of the exotic with jungle like overgrowth set to the beat of 80’s & 90’s hip pop and nostalgic memorabilia from the golden age of rap and what you’ll find is The Farsides. Montreal you might not know us but we know you very well.

Fun, hip, cool spot with delicious food & cocktails! Thai - Hawaiian fushion which was a great combo of flavors, spices, veggies, meats, etc. The venue is visually very trendy with street graffiti art & anime, has high ceilings, cool furniture, & chill vibes. Nous sommes arrivé à 20h nous avons eu nos repas à 23h je n'avais même plus faim lorsque nous avons reçu nos plats. Le service était inexistant, j'ai du me lever pour demander les factures & ne me dites pas que c'était parceque le restaurant était plein. J'ai demandé à une serveuse si le Dj venir elle m'as dit d'aller au Bord'elle parcequ'il avait eu que 6 reservations & que l'ambiance allait être meilleur là bas. C'était hyper cher pour rien. Drinks? Beer? What beer? Only had 3 choices, given craft beers' popularity it's very disappointing. At least Painkiller cocktail was delicious!
Food was ordinary & not good value for money, & we tried lots: fresh coast ceviche with 4-5 half slices of shrimp, imperial rolls tiny, mango salad, pineapple Tao chicken mostly batter not chicken, only good value was Pad Thai.
Atmosphere & decor are nice but cannot make up for food & beer!View more

J'ai vraiment aimé la salade de mangue & le California Love - un vrai coup de coeur ! Les ailes de poulet étaient très piquantes, peut-être un peu trop, mais tout de même savoureuses. Le porc belly était délicieux, & j'ai aussi apprécié le riz. Par contre, j'ai trouvé le prix des cocktails un peu élevé. One of the greatest restaurants in the entirety of Montreal. They have a unique cuisine that can satisfy anyone. I recommend trying the entire menu. The decor is also one of the strengths of Farsides. I can honestly say that I would come just to look around without eating anything. This is the place to bring everyone you know.View more

Went here on a snowy day. Didn't have a reservation but we got into eat easily enough. The place had a nice vibe, cool decor & friendly staff. The pad Thai was very salty & the pork dish as well. The pad Thai portion was big. The food was well presented & when we mentioned the saltiness they gave us a lovely mango cheesecake to take away. The cheesecake was delicious.
