About us
Brought to you by John Edward Gumbley (Bord’Elle) and the Jegantic team, the Farsides is an edgy new take on the restaurant and bar scene. Our blend of culinary styling sets the exotic far eastern flavours of Thailand’s shores crashing into the far Western Beaches of Hawaiian cuisine. The result of this fusion is something we like to call Thaiwaiian. A sumptuous combination of authentic Thai and Hawaiian delicacies, merging familiar flavours with elevated function.
Not only do we consider the Farsides to be a unique take on cuisine, we also aim to please with a brand new re-imagining of the Tiki bar concept. Our mixology program features no less than a dozen modern interpretations of classic cocktails you would normally only expect to find on the Islands.
Stepping into the Farsides will be like walking into our version of an alleyway in Brooklyn circa 1992. Complete with brick walls as high as the eye can see, fire escapes, graffiti laced facades and believe it or not our very own hand painted basketball court. Add a touch of the exotic with jungle like overgrowth set to the beat of 80’s & 90’s hip pop and nostalgic memorabilia from the golden age of rap and what you’ll find is The Farsides.

Bon dans l'ensemble. Le Tao à l'ananas servi dans un ananas braisé m'a particulièrement marqué. Très bon avec sa présentation soignée. Le Pad Thaï est bien proportion & peu convenir une personne. Le Saumon Glacé au Tamarin m'a aussi marqué par son jeu de texture. Très agréable pour ma part. Légère déception pour les 2 rouleaux de printemps à 14$ avant taxes par contre. Je m'attendais à quelques choses d'un peu plus grand, pas de deux rouleaux de la taille d'un petit doigt. La salle offre un bon potentiel pour l'ambiance, & nous reviendrons pour voir celle-ci avec une salle plus remplie dans le futur!View more

What a beautiful restaurant with old school memorabilia everywhere & graffiti art on all the walls. The employees are very friendly & knowledgeable of the menu. The bartender made killer drinks. I had the Thaiwaiian Gin Tonic & The Don Dada. The mango salad was tasty & had a lot flavor. The presentation was beautiful that it was almost a shame to destroy it. I went on a Friday & they had a live DJ that was playing old school hip hop & R&B which brought back good vibes & memories. Went for an early supper (group of 4) on their soft opening. Great atmosphere & service. We shared the Malibu sangria which was good, & I had the pad Thai which was mediocre. Both were absurdly overpriced. But the CHICKEN WINGS (if you like big, breaded, crispy, & saucy wings) are some of the best I have ever had. If I were to go back, it would only be for wings & music.View more

Probably one of the best chicken wings I have ever had at a restaurant. The service was good & I especially appreciated the staff being transparent about lack of experience. The disappointment came when you're told that the meals don't come with a side which doesn't justify 37$ for a general tao in a pineapple bowl. I'm giving it a 2 star review only based on the price being way too far from what they offer.View more

I live in the neighborhood & was stoked by this new addition. Although it was their soft opening & the menu was limited, I jumped on the opportunity to try it out. The food was decent, the cocktails were great & the service too. My issue is the prices. This is not a fine dining restaurant by any stretch of the imagination but somehow dinner for 2 which included 1 cocktail each, 1 shared appetizer & 1 main course each came out to nearly 200$. 37$ for a pad thai with 3 shrimps. It's almost insulting. Needless to say I won't be returning nor will I recommend it to friends. Very unfortunate indeed because the place has the potential.View more
