Brought to you by John Edward Gumbley (Bord’Elle) and the Jegantic team, the Farsides is an edgy new take on the restaurant and bar scene. Our blend of culinary styling sets the exotic far eastern flavours of Thailand’s shores crashing into the far Western Beaches of Hawaiian cuisine. The result of this fusion is something we like to call Thaiwaiian. A sumptuous combination of authentic Thai and Hawaiian delicacies, merging familiar flavours with elevated function.
Not only do we consider the Farsides to be a unique take on cuisine, we also aim to please with a brand new re-imagining of the Tiki bar concept. Our mixology program features no less than a dozen modern interpretations of classic cocktails you would normally only expect to find on the Islands.
Stepping into the Farsides will be like walking into our version of an alleyway in Brooklyn circa 1992. Complete with brick walls as high as the eye can see, fire escapes, graffiti laced facades and believe it or not our very own hand painted basketball court. Add a touch of the exotic with jungle like overgrowth set to the beat of 80’s & 90’s hip pop and nostalgic memorabilia from the golden age of rap and what you’ll find is The Farsides.

My date wanted to check this place out. Really cool urban/hip hop/90s decor. I wonder if they ever actually play basketball in there. The soundtrack reflected this, which was soft at first, but a DJ started spinning & it got a bit louder. Very hip atmosphere, definitely a bougie Instagrammer kind of place. The food is Asian-inspired fusion. My +1's poke was basically a tartare. Very tasty, but very small portion. She ordered a side of veggies which she also enjoyed. My Pad Thai was fine, but not particularly spectacular. Maybe a bit too adapted to North American tastes, sweeter than what I'm used to. But the portion size was good. We split the chocolate lava cake, which was unfortunately overcooked, so it was basically cake. Service was great, very friendly. I'll agree with most of the other reviews here, this isn't a cheap night out, considering the menu is highly inspired by Asian street food. If you're having cocktails, or a bottle of wine, you're looking at 100 bucks per person. Seems to be par for the course in the DIX30 district.View more
The venue is superb, the music was not too loud (many people told me it was very loud), service was good. But the food is wayyyy overpriced, the portions are small & even though on paper the menu looks great, it fails to deliver & tastes ok at best.View more
On est venu au Farsides par pur hasard & sincèrement pas du tout déçu. La nourriture incroyable, nous avions pris les brochettes de poulet, la salade de mangue, le pad thaï, le tao à l'ananas & le boeuf braisé. Tous incroyable mais si j'ai un plat à vous recommander c'est le boeuf braisé! Un 10 étoiles pour le service exceptionnelle, notre serveur Jeremy était super! première visite au restaurant Farside & loin d'être la dernière. Musique excellente, nourriture de qualité & superbe service, le jeune serveur Raphael nous a fait passer un merveilleux moment entre amis resto à conseiller Bizou
La nourriture était délicieuse! Le gérant, Marc-Olivier, a été super. Comme nous étions un groupe, on devait prendre le menu de groupe, qui était très bien, plusieurs option de repas à partager. Le gérant nous a même accommodé pour celles qui avait des allergies ou restrictions alimentaires, étant enceinte, ce fut super apprécié! La musique était un peu forte, mais outre ça, le tout était génial!
