Pour moi, c'est TRÈS SIMPLE: THAI STREET FOOD! Juste les plats réconfortants ordinaires à côté de la rue - l’odeur des caris, les plats colorés avec des épices parfaites et l’habileté au wok des vendeurs locaux.
THAM.MA.DA, un mot thaï utilisé pour décrire quelque chose d'ordinaire ou de simple, est une cuisine décontractée servant des plats de la rue thaïlandais ordinaires mais authentiques. Ainsi que des boissons inspirées de la cuisine thaïlandaise qui apporteront une ambiance «ordinaire mais extraordinaire», le même, mais différent dans l’assiette pour vous permettre de DÉCOUVRIR.

Thammada est largement reconnu comme un charmant restaurant de quartier situé à Outremont qui propose une cuisine thaïlandaise authentique et riche en saveurs. De nombreux clients soulignent la profondeur remarquable des plats tels que le pad thaï, le khao soi et les différents currys, tout en notant que l'ambiance est chaleureuse, vivante et idéale pour les rencontres sociales ou les rendez-vous amoureux. Bien que les expériences liées au service et à la taille des portions puissent varier, le personnel est fréquemment décrit comme étant amical et accueillant, contribuant à une expérience culinaire globale agréable qui donne à de nombreux visiteurs l'envie d'y retourner.

Cette fois-ci, nous avons eu un gros coup de coeur pour l'équipe! ❤?
LE LIEU: Thammada est situé au semi-rez de chaussée, est de petite taille & se démarque par sa grande terrasse en façade, sur un tronçon piétonnier de la rue Bernard. Cette rue, qui est complètement fermée à la circulation, regorge de boutiques & d'autres restaurants. Nous trouvons toujours du stationnement autour. Le restaurant en soi est intime & sombre, & donne l'effet d'un speakeasy. Le bar domine l'espace, & les tables ont toutes vue sur le barman.
PLATS COMMANDÉS, tous excellents : Poulet Prik Pao, Satay, Papaye pokpok, Gai pad med ma-muang & Tom yum moh fai. Tout est servi a prix fort raisonnable pour de si généreuses portions.
Nous avons dégusté plusieurs autres plats lors de visites précédentes, & avons tout aimé. Le chef s'adapte facilement à nos demandes. Les plats sont servis rapidement, mais non précipitamment. L'eau est remplie tout au long du repas.
L'ÉQUIPE : Nous avons été reçus par un jeune homme (gérant??) tellement sympathique. Il s'est assis avec mon mari, & s'est longuement intéressé aux occupations de celui-ci.
La charmante serveuse, aussi souriante qu'avenante, était au petits soins avec nous toute la soirée, malgré les nombreux clients à sa charge.
Le barman, que nous croisions souvent à l'intérieur, était lui aussi chaleureux & inquisiteur de nos goûts, & nous a servis de délicieux cocktails adaptés à nos préférences. 🍸 Grâce à ce trio, nous avons bien mangé & bien rigolé toute la soirée. Bravo! 👏
Malheureusement, nous n'avons noté aucun de leurs noms. 😳
À noter aussi que l'équipe est parfaitement bilingue, dans un quartier qui est plutôt anglophone.
L'ATMOSPHERE : malgré un mercredi soir plutôt moche (29/8/2026), l'équipe a su créer une ambiance détendue & chaleureuse.
Comme la grande terrasse au centre de la rue (très recherchée) n'était pas ouverte, on nous a gentiment assis à l'extérieur, près de la porte, où une première petite terrasse nous accueille.
De par son décor & ses cocktails tendances, ce lieu attire une clientèle de jeunes professionnels. Mais même les familles & les retraités s'y sentent à l'aise.

The Place: Thammada is located on a semi-ground floor, is small in size, & stands out with its large front terrace along a pedestrian portion of Bernard Street. This street, completely closed to traffic, is full of shops & other restaurants. We can always find parking nearby. The restaurant itself is intimate & dimly lit, giving off a speakeasy vibe. The bar dominates the space, & every table has a view of the bartender.
Dishes Ordered, all excellent: Poulet Prik Pao, Satay, Papaya Pokpok, Gai Pad Med Ma-Muang, & Tom Yum Moh Fai. Everything is priced reasonably for such generous portions.
We have enjoyed many other dishes in previous visits, & we loved them all. The chef is very accommodating to our requests. Dishes are served quickly but never rushed. Water is topped up throughout the meal.
The Team: We were welcomed by a young man (manager??) who was incredibly friendly. He even sat down with my husband & took a genuine interest in his work.
The lovely waitress, as cheerful as she was attentive, took great care of us all evening despite having many tables to manage.
The bartender, whom we often crossed paths with inside, was also warm & curious about our tastes, & he served us delicious cocktails tailored to our preferences. 🍸 Thanks to this trio, we ate well & laughed all night. Bravo! 👏

It's also worth mentioning that the team is perfectly bilingual, in a neighborhood that is mostly English-speaking.
The athmosphere: Despite a rather gloomy Wednesday evening (08/29/2026), the team managed to create a relaxed & welcoming ambiance.
Thamada is a great spot for date night in Montreal. The vibe is cool & relaxed, & the service was excellent. We loved the mango salad , satay skewers & the stir-fried beef with basil, chili, jasmine rice, & a crispy fried egg . Everything was delicious & well balanced. Dessert was just as good, We had the Thai roti with vanilla ice cream. A really enjoyable meal from start to finish
Shoutout to the staff working tonight, sunday november 2nd. I came in to pick up a dish for take out, & i found the man who took charge of getting my dish, & the way he interacted with the kitcken to be great. Explained to me that I would get my order shortly. While I was waiting, there was a really nice synchrony & vibe in the restaurant, people were being served, the vibe was cosy , & people seemed really well. It was great to see.
Then i saw the person getting me my order & saw he added a drink to my order. Once I got home, to my suprise, it was a FOCO guava drink. I had never had this. It was so good. Thank you for making me try this, you sharing this with me, opened my mind to a new flavour & type of drink. It was very very nice. It reminds of the italian pear nectars. But it's own thing, a sweet nectar. really really nice. Next time I order a Pad See Ew, i will be adding one of these to my orders. It's a really great idea to get us to try your drinks that way. If not, its not something we know, or might think of. I'm glad & lucky you shared this experience with me .
Oh & also, in my opinion, their Pad See Eww (with beef) is best in the city. Always consistently good . An incredible well crafted treat. Cheers to the kitchen. Your quality is really what always stands out. A master dish, that be consumed in the comfort of you're own home. I'm sure its amazing in restaurant too. Also, throughout the years coming here, i have consistently found the service to get my order to always be a mindful experience, where the waiter takes good care of you.

Just had the most unreal dining experience at Thamada, & wow… this place is pure magic. From the moment you walk in, you're wrapped in the scent of lemongrass, chili, & all the warm, inviting vibes you'd hope for. 🌿🔥
The food? Next level. The Pad Kra Pao had that perfect holy basil kick with a fried egg so golden it deserves its own spotlight. 🍳 The Tom Yum Goong was bright, tangy, & soul-warming. It felt like a hug in a bowl. & don't even get me started on the Massaman Curry… velvety, rich, & melt-in-your-mouth tender. Pure comfort with a touch of elegance. 5 stars ong no cap.
Drinks are just as dreamy, a lemongrass spritzer that refreshes like a breeze in Bangkok, & Thai iced tea so smooth it's basically dessert in a glass.
& the server was the most professional man I've seen. Kind, great, & he could do tricks whilst preparing the drinks that I've never seen before. It's as if Dionysus the god of alcohol himself possessed the man.
Don't listen to the Nirvana reviewer, he lied in his review & doesn't know what he's talking about. I recommend Thammada for any fan of Thai food!
We always come back here for a good time & great food! The vibe is very laid back but still upbeat (imagine early 2000s RnB). The service is great as well, the waiters we've encountered have always been personable. The food is authentically Thai, everything we've taken (& we usually change it up whenever we go) has always been a hit! Tip: do not pass on desserts! 🥞🥭🍚
As regulars, it is always a pleasure to come back to THAMMADA. The vibes, the food, the staff is always on point. However, last time my girlfriend & I were there for her birthday on September 4th, it was a bit disappointing that she didn't get a little cake...
Dear Steven & Dom, Tonight was amazing. The food came super quick & was so tasty!!! We got the pad sew, Tom yum soup, pad Thai, peanut dumplings, mango sticky rice & the crepe! Such a great vibe, service was so friendly. We will definetly be coming back!! Love Dalia, Maxine & Arielle's x2
Vibes 10/10, overall great experience, started with 3 shareable snack plates then shared 3 main plates. Muay Thai / Bangkok Iced Tea were really good + the Sancerre they had was a good crisp bottle to pair with the spicy punches!! Also can't go wrong w/ the mango sticky rice ! Shoutout to the owners
