Tenka Sushi specializes in traditional Japanese cuisine, catered towards the Montreal casual dining experience. Open since September 2007, the restaurant offers a quiet and romantic setting, ideal for families, couples, or groups of friends. The lighting is dim, the music is low, and the surroundings are peaceful. To begin, let the experienced chef present you with a choice of ten appetizers – from the traditional (shishamo fish) to the modern (sushi pizza).
The most popular dining choice at Tenka Sushi are the combo plates for two guests. Consisting of 30 to 35 pieces of sushi or sashimi, including soup or salad, these are very affordable. Main courses are extensive, and include a range of hot and cold plates such as Udon noodle soup, grilled eel on steamed rice, salmon tataki, half-cold and half-raw fish with traditional sauce served on rice, plus fried shrimp and fried crab.
Should you desire the more classic maki, sashimi, sushi or tempuras, chances are that Tenka Sushi serves it. Ask your server or the chef for any special requests. The specialty cakes come highly recommended, so save room for dessert.
Reviews describe Tenka Sushi as a place with fresh, high quality ingredients and a cozy, intimate vibe, with favorites like the Uluru roll, rainbow roll, and mango roll highlighted by many. Fresh fish and delicate sashimi are commonly praised, with pieces that melt in the mouth and a careful balance of flavors. Delivery and takeout are noted for their reliability and organization, though a few comments mention a dip in quality or service compared with earlier visits. Dine in is described as small but charming, with unique decor and a calm ambiance that makes it suitable for dates or dinners with friends. Peak hours can be busy, so calling ahead is recommended if a specific time is desired. Several reviews consider Tenka Sushi among the best in the area and a true gem, though some mention variability in consistency over time. Staff are described as friendly and accommodating and there are appealing sake options to accompany the menu. Overall the consensus is that Tenka Sushi offers a fresh, flavorful experience and reliable preparation, with most patrons leaving satisfied and planning to return.
leur spécialité son rempli de goberge asser ordinaire.. sinon bcp de sauce & de mayo unpeux partout perso je suis pas fan j'aime pouvoir goûter le poisson
Very friendly service, I had ordered Platter S which is their largest (106pcs)& the Rock N Roll, usually on weekends, some of the sushi restaurants are only open as of 3,4pm, Thank goodness Tenka was open at 11:30🙏 They accepted the order with no fuss & had it ready for me at the time I had requested. Very tasty overall but the Rock N Roll, was supposed to be served with Ponzu sauce, I'm not sure if they forgot to pack a small container of Ponzu because I didn't see it in the take-out package & they didn't mention if sauce was already on or not but if it was, to my personal taste, it would need a bit more but Overall, am vert satisfied & would definitely order again.
