The ambiance & atmosphere are what attract people to The Tavern. It is the Monkland staple that Lucillies has to thank for the location being so popular & friendly. The service is on par with any of Montreal's best restaurants. The reason for 5 stars, the consistency of the table d'hote, the specials, the menu & overall food combined with the attentive service... The drinks are superb & unique along with that hard-to-get-a-seat-on terrace in the summer, which adds to an already great vibe.
Try the specials, I promise you they're worth every penny.

Not a very varied menu. But what they do make is very fresh & tasty. Portions are good as well. The vibe & atmosphere is what makes this place. Extensive drink menu too. Parking is on street & in that neighborhood-good luck.View more
Very nice place to eat & have a few drink. The owner takes good care of the customers. Congrats Barbara !View more
Break away from downtown & hit up this long running spot for dinner & drinks. Located on a closed street with other dining & shopping options. The owner is very nice & took very good care of our group of race fans that escaped the rain. Fun place to spend your evening with friends. The red wine selection from the owner was right in my wheelhouse & helped make the meal something special. See you next year!View more
Not my preferred tavern location based on the atmosphere mostly. My friend & I were sat right in the middle of the restaurant, & the waiters kept on accidentally bumping into me, while carrying out food/drinks. The music they were playing was definitely a choice: rap music (with cursing & the n word), which seemed odd given the general crowd.View more
Delicious on a whole new level!! 😍 Appetizer: stripped bass crudo & bread (focaccia with wild stripped bass on a bed of kohlrabi crostone). As a foodie, the crudo was unreal (similar to ceviche). For main, I had the pork chops, quite filling, quite fatty I'm taste & generous proportions. The St Rita drink was perfect cocktail for a sweet ending. Thank you Xavier for excellent service.View more
