Expatriés de Montréal, nous sommes constamment à la recherche de lieux où la fraîcheur des ingrédients rencontre la justesse de la cuisson, où l'ambiance ne triche pas - où tout, du décor à la musique en passant par l'équipe en salle, respire l'harmonie. À la Taverne 1855, nous avons trouvé bien plus qu'un bon repas : une expérience complète.
Chaque bouchée révélait un respect rare du produit, chaque plat était maîtrisé, chaque assiette, pensée. Le jaret d'agneau est divin! Le service, quant à lui, nous a profondément marqués. Un regard franc, un sourire sincère, une attention présente mais jamais envahissante - voilà un personnel qui sait recevoir.
Le lieu, à la fois chaleureux & raffiné, nous a fait oublier qu'on était de passage. Pour un lunch, nous étions chez nous, dans un repaire de bon goût & de savoir-faire.

This was my second time here after the new guys took over & I just love it. The ambiance is fantastic & the food is even better. The jarret d'agneau was unbelievable. They'll be seeing me quite frequently I'm sure. Great spot

I will admit the food was fabulous, but hard to enjoy in a difficult atmosphere with very little attention to detail. 6 tables directly face the kitchen so 1 person (me) will always be facing blindingly bright lights. The music was loud & choice was incomprehensible! 60s era war songs. Mostly CCR with some Neil young, David Crosby & oddly Tom Petty thrown in. Not what I want in fine dining. When I asked if they could turn it down, I got no response. I expected a creative bar menu to match the food menu, but it was pretty basic & the drink was extremely weak. The small table was cluttered with unused glassware which we had to ask them to take away when our app came. Lastly, the waitress never told us the specials, nor what was no longer available! After much decision-making, what my friend wanted was no longer available. It was then that she told us about the special. Despite the fabulous food, I wouldn't go back.

Une belle découverte à Magog. Il y avait de l'amour & du soin dans tous les plats. Une bonne cuisine de brasserie avec une touche de raffinement au niveau des saveurs. On aimerait plus de vins au verre, surtout nature, bio. Très bons cocktails. Le chef en cuisine & son équipe (nous avions la table en face) sont d'une grande efficacité, on voit que tout est préparé au fur & à mesure, il y a de l'action, un peu de bruit aux tables avoisinantes mais quand même intéressant de voir la brigade s'activer ainsi en cuisine. On y retourne !
Cuisine bonne manque un peu plus dans les assiettes pour le prix... Mais très bon. Le service était froid & long pourtant le restaurant n'est pas grand... Je connais je suis moi même du métier... Nous avons attendu 20 minutes pour notre addition & 25 autres minutes pour la payer. Les verres étaient poussiéreux... Un peut déçu au rapport qualité/prix.
La qualité des plats était à la hauteur de nos attentes & le risotto exceptionnel. Malgré un dimanche soir bien occupé, le service était courtois & efficace. De loin la meilleure table de Magog!
