Tacos Tin Tan is celebrated across reviews for birria tacos that are juicy, tender and generously filled, with the consommé, guacamole and salsas repeatedly described as delicious and drinks like horchata or agua fresca praised. The vibe is authentic and cozy, the service fast and friendly, and the small setting seen as charming and welcoming. The birria tacos are often the standout item and many readers call them among the best in Montreal or St Henri, though a few plates show drier chicken or smaller portions and some note prices can be high. The menu also features ceviche, quesabirria and ramen birria with mixed opinions, and overall the consensus highlights bold flavors, solid tacos and a memorable visit with plans to return.
Of the 3 birria tacos places we've tried in Montreal, this was the best. The portions were great as it came with 4 instead of 3 tacos. They were stuffed full with filling. The consomme was incredible. The guac & chips were very reasonably priced & so delicious. The staff were kind & the restaurant was homey & authentic. They brought us their hot sauce/salsas without being asked & both were absolutely delicious. The green salsa was a refreshing, mild type of salsa & the red was like a habanero style with a spice level that continues to increase on your tongue. Both were absolutely delicious & we couldn't stop eating. We absolutely loved the experience & the food.
I unfortunately was not a fan. The portions are not the best & of the three types of tacos we had (birria, chicken, pork), only the birria was decently juicy with good flavour. The horchata tastes good albeit slightly watered down.
I live in LA & have eaten tacos all over the world including authentic ones in cities all over Mexico. This place is incredible, top 3 tacos I have ever had. Tried the Ceviche, El Pastor & Birria & when I finished I went for a round 2 of the ceviche! 100% coming back real soon!!! 🤩🌮🇲🇽

3.5 I love paying right away so you can just leave after. Not a place for cocktails , but they do have Mexican coke- ice is great. Birria was delish , nice crunch but 4 tacos are tiny for $18
Pastor was not my fave, but I'm sure some people would like it.
Service was great, people are nice & the food came pretty quickly. We went early & didn't wait for a spot.
Small places for fast eating tacos.
The problem is that montreal has so many mexican restaurants that the level of comparison make us higher our standards.
I think that i would go back to have the ramen version of birria.
I moved to the area 2 months ago & I have been doing extensive taco research. There are like 5 or 6 taco joints in this neck of the woods. I have spent lots of money obsessively trying to find who does it best. There is STIFF competition! Frida & cinco are both AMAZING.
So trust me when I say that the birria tacos here have won the taco wars. The other tacos here are really good but the birria stands out & is my favorite taco out of all the tacos in st henri.
Love love their Birria tacos here! 4pcs for 18$ also their horchata slapsss!!! , we love ordering here for to go since Lachine Canal is just minutes walk. :)))
Food was delicious, tried the guac & chips, corn, birria tacos & quesabirria👌🏼really good! Also the horchata & the flor de Jamaica juice were super! The wait to get the food was a bit long but definitely worth it. The place is cozy & very pretty, & the staff is super friendly & courteous.
The beef in the birria tacos are braised to perfection, melt-in-your mouth delicious. Great flavour & good portion. Their mango agua fresca was also really good. Cute, hole-in-the-wall spot. I did order the ramen on a separate occasion, but didn't love it because the noodles felt like instant noodles. It might be worth a try, but the birria tacos are what's outstanding.
I was looking for birria tacos & was amazed! Delicious! The owners are very friendly & polite. Place looks really cool. Authentic & welcoming. Great job guys!
Very cute little taco place in st Henri. The place is quite small but they do have a terrasse in the back. The birria is my favorite in the city (as well as their plateau location). I did try the ramen birria & it was surprisingly delicious. The broth is basically their consome sauce. The mezcarita was so good if you like a sour & Smokey /spicy drink.
I had a craving for Birria so I went to this place. I am sad to say that my craving was not satisfied. The overall plate is lacking flavor, the amount of broth you get is ridiculously small, I get more ketchup with fries at McDonald's! On top of that is $18 plus tip, plus tax. Never coming back again.
