Reviews consistently praise Tacos Frida for authentic Mexican flavors with standout options like pastor, birria, carnitas, and pescado tacos and a memorable pozole. Many diners describe the service as friendly, attentive, and fast when the place is busy, with a cozy, vibrant atmosphere. Several mentions highlight strong drinks and margaritas, including hibiscus and tamarind varieties. Portions and prices vary, with some praising generous value while others note small portions or higher prices for certain dishes. Delivery orders generally travel well, but some guests prefer dining in for the full experience and report occasional order mixups or missing utensils. Gluten free diners should be aware that cross contamination can occur, as the kitchen reportedly does not fully prevent wheat and corn tortillas from sharing surfaces. While the majority call it among the best tacos in Montreal, there are occasional critiques about wait times, inconsistency, and some dishes not meeting expectations. Overall, Tacos Frida is described as a top Montreal Mexican spot with flavorful, well seasoned dishes, friendly staff, and a lively setting.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at restaurant frida , & it truly delivered an exceptional Mexican food experience. From the moment I walked in, the vibrant décor & warm ambiance set the perfect mood for a great meal. Thank you Luna for the great service 🙏🏻 Highly recommend!
Like the food it was pretty good I had tacos carnitas. My friend had two different type of taco, one of them was the birria tacos which was good but not enough crispy. My friend also took a suggestion from the waitress which I don't recall what it was named but he was not disappointed & found the suggestion very tasty. But overall great experience the food was good, the service was awesome & the atmosphere /deco was really great. We also see its a place really appreciated by people, it was around 20:45 & the restaurant was full & people seamed to have great time.
Wildly inconsistent.... inedible this time..Last time we got food from here it was the most amazing fajitas I'd ever eaten the beef was so tender & flavourful. My partners chorizo tacos were delicious. We order the *exact* same thing today, awful. We couldn't even finish our meals. Dry, flavorless. My beef in my fajita was like rubber & tasted like nothing. The peppers were raw. The chorizo one looked so sad & was also flavorless. I don't understand how inconsistent this can be from amazing to inedible. It worrys me from ever coming a third time. 😕

Nice small restaurant, very welcoming. The tacos were a bit sad looking. Also had the nachos al pastor, very flavourful. With the tacos came 1 singular slice of lime (less than half) for 3 tacos. The lime was very dry so we asked our server for more & she gladly brought us 2 slices of the same size. By my surprise, we were charged $1 for the "extra" lime. We didn't say anything because we had already payed when we realized, but it just feels a little cheap to be charged for it giving that the one that came with the meal was dry. Overall, the food was pretty good, but there are better taco places out there, that are also more authentic.
