It was Cinco de Mayo yesterday & I said whatever it takes I am going on a hunt for some Mexican food. I found the Treasure!!! Hit Gold with Tacos Frida. The chicken tacos are made with a chipotle sauce with just the right kick mixed in with all the ingredients topped with green salsa made them authentic, flavorful & delicious.
I have food allergies (to hot peppers) & even at a Mexican restaurant they could accomodate me. Usually everything is already pre made but they gave me few options. I didnt had to stick with just bread, like at other previous Mexicans restaurants. Thank you. I really appreciate. Some people actually HAVE food allergies, not just a'trend'.
The service was great.
The atmosphere reminds me of Brazil: very colorful & happy. The music was not blasting loud, gracias, so we could actually have a conversation & enjoy our time there.

I really don't enjoy leaving negative reviews for businesses, but the gaslighting was a good motivator here.
We placed a large order through DoorDash since we don't live close by, & they couldn't even bother including salsas with the tacos. Instead of simply apologizing or saying something like,'Hey, next time you come by, we'll give you something on the house,' they told me the salsas are given for free as if including salsa with tacos is some kind of special favour.
Then they told me it's a'personal preference' to eat tacos with salsa. Please go to Mexico, serve tacos without salsa, & see how far the'personal preference' excuse gets you. Complete nonsense.

Having lived in Mexico, it's honestly tiring to see these cheap, scammy Mexican restaurants charge way more for tacos while not even bothering to include basic things like limes or salsas or acting extremely greedy about including these important items.
It's the complete antithesis of what Mexican food is supposed to be about.
It was my first time having Tacos in Montreal. So I decided to try them. The food was really authentic Mexican style & I found the flavors to be well-balanced. I recommend trying them; I'm sure you'll enjoy them. You can also have a shot of Tequila with some Tajin seasoning on the side.

We got the lunch special which includes 3 tacos, a soup or chips & guac & a drink. My wife got the pastor tacos & I got the tinga tacos. Both were delicious but pastors are the best. You can't get three different tacos unfortunately, but you can still share if your wife will let you. Easy on the Mexican salsa, it's pretty spicy, but fun. I got the hibiscus juice for a 2$ extra fee but it was worth it! Great vibes, friendly service.
The best Mexican restaurant in Montreal! We just discover this restaurant & the food & drinks were amazing! The people working there were super friendly! I will be going back many times!!!
Absolutely amazing Mexican restaurant. Everything we had was top notch: fantastic pozole soup, amazing burrito & the BEST tacos & mojito I've ever had.

We have been searching for a good Mexican restaurant for months & certainly found it at Tacos Frida! The server, Joshua, was attentive & kind, & the food (guacamole, burrito pastor, tortilla soup, etc) was all fantastic. We will be back!!!
I visited Tacos Frida on a Sunday night & had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, but it was definitely worth it.
The food was very tasty, especially the pozole - flavorful broth, good seasoning, & tender meat. It really stood out! The tacos were good as well, though not particularly memorable.
Overall, it's a recommended spot if you're craving authentic Mexican flavors. The atmosphere is casual & vibrant, & the wait time is understandable considering the popularity. I'd definitely go back for the pozole!

The food, the vibe, the staff, the prices-NOT A SINGLE COMPLAINT! Everything here is excellent & chef's kiss. Authentic Mexican cuisine too, sooo I'm definitely coming back :P
