I should have known, that when making a dinner reservation, I was told that I should look at the menu & decide what we would eat before going. What? Because if they get busy, it would take 45 to 60 minutes to get our food.
So I looked over the menu the day before.
Why? There are 4 tables. How busy can it get? It's the take out...2 sushi chefs. It did take 45 minutes. It was ok. We were with friends & time passed quickly.
As for the food...I was impressed with the presentation. Beautiful.
Taste..ok. I liked the fact that the rolls had a minimal amount of rice & they were all a good size.
We ordered a variety of Specialty Maki, see pic.
The rice was light & fluffy. The rolls were solid & didn't fall apart. A definite plus. The ingredients were different than in other sushi restaurants which made nit interesting.
Would I go back? Not sure. Need to try it again.
Beautifully made & delicious sushi! The tempura is excellent too. Staff are lovely. Washroom could be a bit cleaner, but overall, highly recommend!
Used to love this place. Not sure what happened, but since February, we've gone back twice & had issues with the sushi both times. Once, tasted funky, & the second time it was just not up to previous quality.
My usual places were closed so we tried Sushi Yuu. What a great gem. Staff was efficient at getting my rather large order prepared quickly. Makes were fresh & delicious but my favorite was the Salmon sushi - so fresh. Will definitely return
A quiet corner in the west island where you can enjoy some freshly made sushi. In terms of quality, it sits between higher end restaurants & supermarket sushi. The staff was courteous. I would go back if I was in the neighborhood.
Order from here for take out all the time my confidently delicious & fresh. Best sushi in the area IMO.
Well...pre-ordered some sushi 2 days prior to when we wanted it. Sadly the sushi tasted like it was made on the day we ordered it. Disappointingly not very palatable.
The atmosphere is lacking & it smelled like bleach which was off putting to me while eating. The dirty dishes were sitting in the back, which wasn't the best view either but the other 1/2 of the restaurant was okay. I like the sushi paintings on the wall.
The service is a little slower. It wasn't busy but it still took above the average wait time to get our food. The waiter was good.
I sushi was fresh, & looked presentable. I didn't like that the ginger was seating out in a pot & looks old on the edges (I didn't eat it.) Their specialty rolls were tasty.
Maybe it's best to pick up from there instead of eating at the restaurant.
This is a wonderful sushi place to have in the neighborhood.
The sashimi slices are done right & the maki are perfectly rolled. Many places roll them too tightly making the rice too chewy.
If you haven't tried this place you should.
I had done a sushi dinner take out from Sushi Yuu & my whole family loved it. Yesterday we went back for a friends birthday & loved the sushi & poke bowls everything tasted great. A gem of a sushi restaurant right here.
Favourite new place they load up the sushi with fish. It's really good. We are coming here from now on. Good price .
I want to give 1000 stars to this place for everything: the service the food the cleanliness, the atmosphere. Their sushi was delicious & fresh. Their prices are reasonable & honestly it's worth it. Highly recommend!
Truly the best sushi in West Island. The cooks are very knowledgeable & we interact with them on every visit. It's mostly a take out restaurant & it shows because of its very small dinning room space. It almost feels like we have to eat quickly & leave asap because of the limited seating. I would recommend upgrading their tables & chairs & probably building a wall to separate entrance from dinning area. Still, the best restaurants are sometimes holes in a wall.
Randomly came across this place while travelling & so glad we stopped in!! Typically weary of eating sushi on road trips through smaller towns but this place was excellent.
We had an assortment of suhi types including sashimi, nigiri, maki's etc. All were fantastic… but the unagi nigiri & anaconda roll were on another level. The anaconda was like nothing I've ever had!
Highly recommended!!
Will definitely be back again if passing through this area while they're open.
Very nice place. So simple. Delicious food. Better than any sushi I ever ate in Montreal. The service is super fast. The food has real taste. The size of the sushi is so well made. The soy sauce is homemade & delicious. The wasabi was really good. Every bite was a dream. I would definitely return. Highly recommend it. Also the prices are affordable & great.
