This is hands down one of the best sushi places I've been to in the West Island. I can't recommend this place enough. The sushi & rice is so fresh & the spicy mayo is free!!!!!
Very good food. Very positive contrast to all the over priced all you can eat sushi in the area. Service was friendly, personal & quick. Will definitely be coming back.

The variety & quality of the food at Sushi Ya Matcha are impressive! Everything tastes fantastic (especially for the reasonable prices!), & the owners are a delight. They've also done a wonderful job with the restaurant's decor. Highly recommended!
The best sushi I've had in Montreal area besides Sakura downtown. The owner is very meticulous in recreating authentic Japanese flavours from her native country Japan. When I'm itching for some takoyaki like in the back streets of Osaka -I order 2-3 orders at a time from here. There also some great great'modern-pop''sushi' here like poke bowls & new style maki. Arigato Gozaimasu!!!

loved how saucy & flavorful the sushi are, also loved that they offer spicy mayo sauce on the side. Owner & staff are supper welcoming & nice! One of my new fav sushi places in the west island 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I have been eating at this place from past year. Fresh, delicious sushi & great service! The cozy seating area makes the experience great. Their chef special crunch-style sushi rolls are a standout-tasty, creative, & definitely worth trying. Highly recommend!
Some of the best sushi in Montreal. Always friendly & makes you feel welcomed. Great service, great sushi & great people. One of my favorite spots especially in the West Island.
We went there based on the recommendations here. One of us had sushi & was pleased. Four of us had soba, Udon & teriyaki. We found the three noodle dishes sweet! They put sugar in the broth(!!!) in the seitan & in the omelette. So not-Japanese. It was a huge disappointment. The bill was 100 dollars plus.

Nice decor, service is friendly. Menu was very big. Sushi is affordable & fish tasted pretty fresh. The rice was a bit on the wet side & made the seaweed wrinkled & chewy. Pieces advertised with jalapeno was, what we believe was, green peppers. Soy sauce is diluted to watery sugar. I love me some sweet soy sauce but this was overly watered down, we could barely tell it was soy sauce. Thankfully they put a bottle of spicy mayo on the table. Although fish looked & tasted relatively fresh, a fried roll we had only had a tiny sliver of tuna. Dinner was edible & well presented but their tactics to cut corners were not missed. Good for a casual dinner out but would likely not be returning. There are better places to dine in west island for sushi. Sadly, the great reviews did not match what we experienced with their food.
Placed an Uber order late thursday night near 7:40 & they still made it & were very nice when I walked in to pick it up. Great sushi & even better owner/employees. Thank you very much!
I enjoy eating specially unique food. I can tell with no doubt that this is the best Sushi in Montreal. Me & my family are addicted to it. I've been going once a week to this place for some years & the food experience is always very special. From the warm greeting of the employees to the taste of the food & the arashi sushi (one of my favorite). My daughters love sushi, so every time we visit a new destination during vacation, we eat once at a sushi restaurant. Sushi Matcha is the most delicious & unique Sushi restaurant in the world for me. We always long Sushi Matcha when we visit Sushi restaurants in other cities or countries. Definitely, this restaurant is a must in Montreal for any Sushi lover or anyone who appreciates good quality cuisine.
Pour moi c'est LE MEILLEUR restaurant japonais de la région, à essayer, vous ne serez pas déçus. petit restaurant propre, discret & conviviale...qualité des sushis 5/5 la soupe Miso 5/5 ;-)
