About

Sushi Sama delivers a specialized menu centered on precision-cut nigiri, creative maki rolls, and vibrant poke bowls. The culinary process focuses on the balance between vinegared rice and the inherent textures of high-quality raw fish. Patrons encounter a methodical approach to Japanese-inspired cuisine where every plate emphasizes structural integrity and clean presentation. The menu highlights a variety of seafood options paired with crisp seasonal vegetables and signature sauces designed to enhance rather than mask the protein. Each poke bowl offers a custom composition of grains, legumes, and fresh toppings that prioritize dietary variety. This establishment functions as a direct source for quick, high-quality Japanese fare that maintains strict consistency across its diverse selection of handcrafted rolls and layered bowls.

We always order take-out from here & it has always been good to us. Big fish portion in the poke bowls 🐟

I ordered take out from the restaurant & was dissapointed with my poke bowl. It was heavily sauced, fish tasted old & a lot of the rice was soggy & mushy. I couldn't eat it. I saw the reviews hoping for better.

When this place is good, it's very good. But once in a while it's pretty bad. My last order was disappointing.. white fish (which I usually avoid but came in a combo) was super chewy & not fresh. Dragon eye tasted sour, the oil was bitter. Left a bad taste in my mouth & will probably be a while before I order here again unfortunately.

They have a location on Fleury street that I have now visited twice. The room is best described as a designer's bad dream. In other words unmemorable looking too much like a cafeteria. The stark lighting does not help.

the food however is something else. On my first vist we were a larger group & the comments were positive all around. The pad thai was good, generous & properly spiced. The now ubiquitous General Tao was not drenched in sauce & lightly crisped, meeting the approval of our friend. Two of us had a Bol tye meal that included raw fish salad rice avocado & fish eggs. The presentation far surpassed our expectations that were based on the decor. The meal felt fresh & flavourful although my friend & I felt that the dressing, being tasty, overpowered the taste of the ingredients. We noted to consider asking for the sauce on the side the net time.

I returned recently with another companion & ordered the same dish & again it was very tasty.

P.S. the spring rolls are some of the best I have tasted & its a bring your own wine.

The only other issue i have is they close early for my taste
