If you've ever wondered what it's like to eat a meal that has the personality of a damp paper towel, Sushi Sama is your North Star. It's the perfect spot for anyone who finds'flavor' a bit too aggressive & prefers their fish to have the structural integrity of a marshmallow left out in the rain.
The Ambience
Walking in is a real treat. It's got that'waiting room at a very trendy dentist' chic. It's the kind of place where the lighting is just bright enough for you to see exactly how much you're overpaying, but dim enough that the staff can pretend they didn't see you waving for a napkin ten minutes ago.
The'Cuisine'
The sushi itself is a masterclass in minimalism-mostly because the fish is sliced so thin it's practically a hologram.
The Rice: They've clearly cracked the code on how to make rice both mushy & somehow crunchy at the same time. It's an avant-garde texture profile I like to call'The Glop.'
The Specialty Rolls: These are essentially 90% tempura flakes &'spicy' mayo that tastes suspiciously like generic Thousand Island dressing. If you're looking for the actual seafood, you'll need a magnifying glass & a hopeful heart.
The Presentation: It looks great on Instagram, which is perfect, because looking at the photo is significantly more satisfying than actually chewing the food.
