Beaucoup trop cher, comptez 500$ par personne taxes & service inclus, avec accord de saké. Pour 17 morceaux de sushis. Très bons j'avoue, belle expérience, mais quand même..Voir plus

It's a 16 piece nigiri omakase, one dessert, total 17 service, at the end of the 16 service, the chef will offer one extra nigiri (50$), it's a foie gras one, it's very delicious. before dinner you will be asked if you want caviar & truffles on your nigiri, it's topped on some nigiri not all of them (85$ premium). Three wine pairings are offered, drinks: 3 sake, 2 cocktails & one beer 150$, the second is 5 sake for 170$, third option is 5 japanese whiskey pairing for 170$. 20 % gratuity is added to your bill. I know, it's costly, but worth every dollar. This should be the place you bring someone to celebrate something big, special occasion or something, the meal in & of itself is amazing & a memorable experience. ON TO THE FOOD 1) HAMACHI (yellowtail tuna): torched, topped with corn "sauce" some fried bits, wasabi - it is soft sweet, the fried bits add contrast, yummy. Good start... 2) TORO (tuna belly): has pineapple maple sugar- rich, buttery, the pineapple adds sweetness & fragrance unlike anything I've ever had before. This is instantly my fave! 3) KAMPACHI: Lemon & olive oil - subtle combination but adds a nice dimension. this is the first time I've had olive oil in sushi, it's quite original. 4) SCALLOPS: ponzu, hot sauce - best scallop ever, soft & melts in your mouth. New fave again... the sake pairing for this is also a bit piquante parallels well 5) SHIMA AJI (striped jack):soy sauce & salt - nice umami 6) MADAI (sea bream): scallion - lost my notes lol 7) TIGER SHRIMP: olive oil, matcha salt - onw of my fave, shrimp is sweet soft & tender, condiments make it very unique, melts in your mouth, like a lover's kiss... 8) KING SALMON: torched, olive oil - soft buttery satisfaction 9) ALBACORE: aged 6-7 days, topped with fried onions - again the fried onions offer great contrast of texture & taste 10) SABA (blue mackerel):torched, beets sauce, lemon, home rice crispy - contrasting textures & torched smokiness. I personally don't like mackerel because of the smell but this one went down easy, very tasty. 11) AKAMI (tuna): salt & wasabi - classic buttery tuna satisfaction, the color was bright red, so vibrant 12) ESCOLIER NOIR (oil fish): torched, soy sauce, slamon roe - buttery & smokey, so lovely 13) WAGYU: torched, soy sauce, wasabi - smokey tender, melt in your mouth, umami bomb, new fave again! 14) BONE MARROW: torched, Bali sea salt, wasabi - rich, soft, somky, with a hint of sweetness, the hints of sea salt hit intermittently as each grain melt in your mouth separately, & cuts through the fat nicely, again new fave... 15) UNAGI (eel): bone marrow is torched over it so it is coated with fat, & topped with poblano - smoky, rich, the poblano adds some nice fresh & mild spiciness. 16) UNI (sea urchin): matcha salt, nori, you hold the nori with rice in your hand, it's kind of an open hand roll - sweet soft fresh tasty. 17) FOIE GRAS: torched topped with salt - smoky silky soft, sweet, rich, hints of salt to cut through the fat, perfection, new fave again! 18) MATCHA ICE CREAM BITE WITH DRINK: matcha ice cream cake is coated in a matcha chocolate & topped with roasted sesame seeds. it is served with a drink containing matcha, yuzu, plum wine. Take a bite of the cake then a sip of the drink, it will leave you with a special aftertaste. Something everyone has eaten in childhood, something sweet & warm & makes you feel happy. So the end is very nostalgic, I won't say what the taste is, if you want to know, then go it's an amazing experience!!! PS: I've tried the drinks pairing & sake pairings so far, both are very good, the two cocktails from the drinks pairing are on the sweet side, so fair warning. The pairing usually runs parallel or contrasts the nigiri, it is highly enjoyable, has depth & is thoughtful. Listen to the chef & sommelier, they unload a lot of info... I will be back to try it with the whiskey pairing.Voir plus

We had a wonderful evening of fine dining. It's an experience that is like no other in Montreal! Attentive, personalized service, & delicious sushi! I loved the seating arrangement where we could watch the chefs work their magic. The bartender also created specialty cocktails that were unique & delicious. Highly recommend 👌Voir plus

Staff were excellent! Food was good. Way-way overpriced. $35 for a drink??
If you're OK with spending $900 for dinner for two, then go at it.
I don't mind spending the money, but the quality wasn't there.Voir plus

This place is a gem, traditional sushi with a modern twist, yes it is expensive but it was amazing from beginning to the end, all the bites were different from each others the flavor journey was unreal, chef Quan should get a Michelin star, not only was he talented but the man is funny too. there's no Omakase restaurant you get the service in French & English, he makes sure about your dietary & allergies restrictions & the sake expert Reed knows his pairing & sake, such a wonderful experience, Montreal needs more of this, oh & chef Alexandra is a cutie & if you have the chance..TAKE THE FOIE GRAS EXTRA BITE!! btw to the person that said about the service fees being a tip, it is NOT, the service fees goes to the company not the employees, get your facts straight!Voir plus

Had a lovely experience at Sushi by Scratch on a Saturday in August 2023. We were asked to arrive 30 minutes ahead of our reservation. Because we get to watch the preparation of each course & everyone is served at the same time, they probably request early arrival to avoid having to start late due to latecomers. We were offered a complimentary cocktail, there was an oshibori to clean our hands, & we were served 2 amuse-bouches as we waited.

We were shown to our seats at the sushi bar on time & presented with the drink options (curated pairings or items from their drink menu). The chalkboard behind the bar showed the different fish/proteins we would be enjoying. You get to watch the sous-chef expertly slice each piece of protein & the chef add the finishing touches & seasoning. Each bite is seasoned to perfection & placed on your plate for you to pick up & enjoy. It was creative & absolutely delicious. A great modern take on sushi.

I did not encounter the issues described in the negative reviews; It must be because they have taken note of the comments & addressed the issues. There was no pressure to take the upgraded experience that adds caviar & truffles to our existing dishes. Yes, we were asked to arrive 30 minutes early, but there was no pressure to order any drinks from Stillwell. We were shown to our seats at the reservation time. There was also no pressure to add the additional course at the end (at an additional cost), & those who did not opt for the course were offered the opportunity to have their dessert right away or wait to experience it with the rest of the diners.

Service was excellent & friendly. Food was outstanding.Voir plus

Fantastic overall experience, excellent sushi quality, & unique take & inspired dishes that combines both traditional & modern flavors.

I also thought important to return on some other feedback we read before going there -- as they listened & addressed all of them.
1) Black truffle option - yes it's an optional addition on existing dishes (it's not a separate dish). it's totally optional, they offer you once & that's it. We didn't take it (no one at our seat time did) because we wanted the original experience & it was fabulous
2) Optional dish at the end -- they offered us 1 extra dish at extra cost (it was well explained). Honestly, it was worth it but 1 couple did take the option. They were asked if they'd like to get their dessert dish early (they declined); so no, if you don't take the extra dish, you don't have to stay longer. p.s.: that "longer" was no more than 10 minutes.
3) Start time -- we started on time, even if they were 2 people missing. They joined ~10 minutes after we were seated & caught up.
4) Early arrival -- It's understandable to ask for people to arrive early, to avoid having people joining late / having to catch up. There was an included drink (with refill) & 2 small dishes which were great. You only have to pay if you want something else from the bar -- they aren't trying to sell you more.
5) Omakase experience - the overall experience is the same as their other Sushi by Scratch experience. It's all inclusive with the 2 appetizers + drink early on & 16 dishes. Service is fixed price & service was excellent. The only additional costs will be for alcohol.

Overall, they've listened to the early feedback & adapted. We'll be going backVoir plus
