Reviews for SunnySide Diner
I was in a rush so, I wasn't really looking to dine in. I went inside, was looking at the girl (she turned out to be the waitress) for a while before she acknowledged my existence. I then asked if they had bagels since I needed something for on the go. She kindly did say yes. So, I asked if I could have a bagel with cream cheese for a take out. When I received my bagel, I went to the car & took off to go where I had to go. While driving, this is when I noticed that I was given a bagel, with 2 packs of Philadelphia cream cheese in a bag & that was it, nothing else. That was extremely poor customer service either on part of the waitress or the chef... when someone asks for a bagel with cream cheese to go & it's given in a small paper bag. One of them should've noticed or should've just put a plastic knife in the bag. Hell at that point, put a plastic spoon or fork in there. On top of it, I gave her a tip... never again. I will never be going there again. If someone's not smart enough to notice that you should be getting a knife if they're not going to put the cream cheese on it... totally not worth it. I wound up going down the street to Tim Hortons instead to get a bagel with cream cheese from them & yes: there was cream cheese on it. This cost me less than where I had gone, they don't ask for tips at Tim Hortons & they get my order right & made sure I was able to eat it. That's what I ate instead. Since I had to go buy food elsewhere & wasted 4.50$ on something that I didn't even get to eat: I'm giving their food 1 star.
I was completely disappointed with this place. It's basically what you'd expect I guess from a place off of a Hwy, looks like a typical little trucker restaurant. Not lots of seating per say either. I've been to casse-croutes that close for the whole winter season that are more appealing atmosphere wise.
In case it wasn't clear earlier in my review why I gave 1 star on service... to give one a tip & not even have to go utensils provided to you speaks volumes. It's not like I was a complicated customer with a super big order: I came in, got my food & left. Gave a generous tip to a waitress who couldn't care less if I got to eat what I paid for or not.
Absolutely best place for breakfast. Awesome staff, delicious food. Highly recommended
Delivery that takes 1.5 hours when the restaurant is 5 minutes away is pathetic. This is not the first time either. Received cold bland food with no seasoning at all. Breakfast just tastes like literal grease. Never again. Terrible food. Slow delivery. I should've known with how often they change out their cooks & delivery drivers that they aren't a reliable restaurant.
Best breakfast in town good quality price sunny side specials 18$ good investment
Cool place right on the St. Lawrence Seaway - watch the ships go by while you eat! Food was good with big portions, service was quick, prices were reasonable. They accommodated our hockey team with short notice. Worth a stop!
If there's one thing that's important for a good start of day is breakfast ... this place is literally the best breakfast place...& I've been to alot of breakfast places & always been disappointed but sunny side is #1 & plus it feels like a home environment.. I'll be honest only 1 time they had a waitress that didn't like her job & that didn't last ... anyways #1 for breakfast for me .. amazing food amazing staff ..& sometimes if you sit at the right spot you get to see big commercials boats while eating 👍
It's a great place for breakfast & lunch, I always have great service & the food is great & also easy on & off the 132 on & off the Mercier bridge 🌉, stop in everyone's is welcome
Nice mom & pop shop for a no frills dining experience. Run of the mill diner food.
Food was good & prices are decent.
They also have a smoothie bar right on the left when you come in.
It can be a little hard to see behind the gas pumps but if you're sing Waze, it'll show you the way.
Great food. Great view. Good location. Excellent service. Simple retro decor.
